We had the pleasure of staying in Sol Don Resort in Torremolinos In Don Marco for 6 days. The room seemed slightly smaller than the Don Pablo room we had stayed in on a previous occasion, but plenty big enough, with a fridge and a safe. We were in room 4039 a high floor room facing the pools. The d¿¿cor was spotless and the bathroom was very clean, with a lovely powerful shower. Individual a/c unit very effective and not noisy. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel was of a very high standard. Every member of staff we came in contact with was cheerful and helpful. We spoke to many ¿¿¿returners¿¿¿ who have been coming back for many years, which is obviously complementary for the resort. The meals in both the restaurants was of a good standard, with lots of choice. Among the many choices, the only thing we found not so good was the spinach, which we found to be overcooked and tasteless even with the seasonings. How about some peas :-) The grounds and the pools were kept to a very high standard, with plenty of beds and umbrellas. We took the local train from Torremolinos station in the town centre to Fuengirola 7.80 euros for 2 people return. Very clean and bright trains and only a 20 minute trip. One word of warning with regard the Beach Bar Los Corales directly opposite the beach entrance, this we found this to be the ¿¿¿tourist trap¿¿¿, charging for dearer versions of spirit than was actually served and for us also larger coffees than was ordered, hence an advertised Coffee and Brandy at 3.50 euros became a magno brandy at 4.50 and 2.00 for the coffee, and a glass of cola was 2.50, we also spoke to a couple of ladies outside that were charged 19 euros for 2 toasties and 2 cups of tea. You only get caught the once, however forewarned etc. There are plenty of other more reasonable places to chose from. We had a wonderful short break at this resort, and without doubt will return next time we come to Torremolinos. PS: Just remembered, their garbage men come around 6.00 pm clearing containers of rubbish and GLASS, much better than 4.30 in the morning, which happens in some hotels. Well done the management for the foresight in arranging this.

very nice
Stayed in March. Very nice setting and paid extra for beautiful sea-view. Room was small but didn't lack anything. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Had to go to sister hotel Pablo for breakfast but not too inconvenient. Wife coeliac and she was very well catered for at breakfast and the one evening meal we had. Found that evening meal a bit expensive so only once - would recommend you getting a half-board deal. Would return.

"EXCELLENT"
have just got back from the marco stayed with my mum for a four day break and wanted to stay longer. the room we had over looked the adult pool very peaceful. rooms cleaned daily they were spotless.very easy and quick check in all staff very friendly and helpful .the marco is the smallest of the hotels had a look around the other two and they also were very spotless clean you could see cleaners cleaning all the time(when do they rest) what we found was how lovely to be able to find a table at the reatrants not like a school canteen (as other hotels ive been to) you were not rushed with you meals there was plenty of food on offer and always topping up the food when running low didnt have wait my mum loved the cakes .we used the adult pool and just relaxed for four days .they have plenty of sun beds so you dont have to get up early to get one .hte hotel is very close to shops and bars .we got a taxi from airport would recommend as 20euros and your there in ten minutes. we will be going back to this hotel again. a very big thank you to all staff for a wonderful peaceful and relaxing break witch is what my mum and i needed.4stars all the way./

Quite good weekend hotel
The hotel is quite pleasant. However, you need to pay for wifi; free available only in lobby. See view costs 8 eur per person per night. Parking behind the complex is free but I can imagine in high season not possible to find a place. Safe in room needs a special key so probably you need to pay for it as well. Spa entrance of additional charge. In fact for free you may use only one of pools from the complex around. In high season it may be crowded, however. Remember to have your own pool towels. Plus for balconies in rooms and big bathrooms with bath tubes and showers. The location is good: hotel facing the see. Half board was not bad. The waiters in restaurant speak only Spanish. In general I recommend for 1-2 nights. For the whole holidays the hotel might be boring.

Excellent
Couldn't fault this hotel in any way. So much so my wife is returning with her mother for a short break on the 30th May. We stayed on the 5th floor and enjoyed a massive balcony complete with loungers and table and chairs. Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily with towels were replaced. Reception and hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We were bed and breakfast and had no complaints over the choice in the morning and with omelettes/eggs cooked as you waited. Breakfast was in the sister hotel 100 yards away within the grounds and bear in mind there are two entrances to the dining room so previous comments re queues were not accurate as the other entrance was always quiet. Add to this a seafront location and you cannot ask for more.
