An average hotel
We had two double rooms for single person occupancy. Sadly the rooms were shabby and poorly maintained. The cleaning staff had done a good job but the rooms needed refurbishing. They smelled damp and the plaster was falling off the wall. The spa bath would have been more enjoyable if the bathroom drains did not smell :-( The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. We did not eat at the hotel. Parking was very convenient and the location is only a short scenic stroll from the center of Bruges. Recommend local patisseries for breakfast. We dined at Au Petit Grand http://www.aupetitgrand.be/ 20 minute walk. It was fabulous.

Nice Hotel on the Canal
We had a nice duplex suite wth two floors, wooden beams, spa bath, high ceiling and great views over the water. The hotel is a short walk from the central square, which means it is far enough away to avoid the tourist trap resturants in the centre. Service was good, freindly staff. The restaurant staff are the same staff that clean the rooms so its not a huge hotel. Hot breakfast was nice.

Boutique? Yes! 4-star? Not so sure!
I stayed in the executive room (nr 22) and its pretty trendy and cool with a view to the water and built over two floors with wooden beams in the high ceiling. Yes, it's fair to say it has the making and design of a true boutique hotel! Location is also good with everything in Bruges within walking distance (but, to be fair, that's the same with all hotels in Bruges). But, for this to be not just a boutique hotel but also a 4-star hotel it has some short-comings! The staff is poor. The reception is often empty and when I checked out in the morning I was checked out by a old guy, with his dirty shirt unbuttoned down to the 3rd button and he looked like he just came back from a heavy night out. Also the breakfast is ok but not the variety and quality of a 4-star hotel. And then you have small things like floor boards being lose, the soap and shampoo all non-branded and poor quality, etc. So, in summary, a nice enough boutique hotel but a bit too much of "IKEA-type style and quality" for it to also be a great 4-star hotel.

Spot on
Cracking boutique hotel, good location, short walk to main square and surrounding areas. Helpful and friendly staff, top bar and restaurant, in room jacuzzis, high to ceiling windows, amazing shower. Would stay here again no problem.
