It seems impressive enough, and it's a professional but impersonal hotel. It's OK if you need to stay one night before getting your connecting flight or if you need a convenient place for a business meeting, but with the rates they charge, you'd expect a little more.

I recently stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a Conference. The hotel is well sign posted in the airport and is a short walk from arrivals which is great after travelling all day. The reception staff were attentive and pleasant. The room was spacious, confortable with TV & tea/coffee. The room, food and drink were very expensive but you will have this problem in most of Norway especially with the price of beer. The Conference facilities were average and the catering for the Conference was also average. The location when catching a very early flight home is ideal not having to worry about taxi's, trains etc. Literally roll out of bed, check out and walk staright across to departures.In summary, great location for business but is a long way out of Oslo if travelling for Leisure

Well, I already wrote about it but after my last experience I really have to write again. I will be simple but clear. Since 2 years ago they are saving money with everything, no heating (even in winter), the breakfast is worse and worse, earlier thant the end fo the service they start removing everything so if you arrive 15min before they close you will see almost nothing there, really bad. And the breakfast staff, starting with the woman with glasses (normally at the desk) is so unfriendly....The rooms: you see in Tripadvisor the new renewed rooms (the bathroom is the old one, not renewed). I even like the old rooms.... but it does not matter if it is new or old, in any of them the heating workd properly. Always cold air, it doesn't matter if u give max heating, the warm air never comes, the technic will come and tell you that you are right, that does not give warm air, normally is 15/16¿¿, incredible! But even in winter the same....so last 2 times sleeping there I woke up sick, sorethroat, etc. THANK YOU. Before they provided an extra heater, but now not anymore so.....be ready to be cold or freezing. Last time was too much.....we asked for a warm room....they gave us the renewed one, the heating did not work, I called and they told me in a bad unpolite way that no heaters where provided from this moment (she was sooooooooo unfriendly) and showed she was unable to provide a solution, so I ask her if changing the room to a warmer one would be ok....she said yes, she will call back, Se called back and said "Ok, your new room xxx but you have to come to reception to take the key and take your luggage". I said to her that at least they could come quick and give the key because it is their problem, and I did not want to take all my things before checking the other room.....She answered "ok, I don't know when you will get the key then, will take time...." I mean, what kind of professional is that?? At the end a different woman came, really friendly, we checked the new room and was even worsem freezing.....even her was surprised, her face was funny because we both knew that something is not working with the heating.....I asked why they save money in heating because never works....and of course did not get any answer. She checked again....and gave me another oom, the 3rd one. Was a bit warmer but not because of the heating (which did not work of course), just because the sun was heating it....but at least she tried to help and was friendly. But the other receptionist, whic was called " OSA WITTI" or something like that if she did not lie to me..... she was tha most unfriendly staff I ever meet in many years in a hotel. So, direction....if that person can't be professional, can't face any troubles, not give solutions....and instead treats the clients so bad....think about it because next time I am not allowing her to be so rude with me. Hope not to find here there.....poor clients.And fix the heating problem! you play with the health of your clients, that's not funny at all....And for the readers....is not me just complaining....many other colleagues from work, different airlines crew, etc are complaining about it....I would go to the PARK INN, cheaper and good heating for sure! We went to Gardermoen for a work convention, gathering 160 representatives from different locations in the country. That was the reason for choosing this location; it enables people to go straight from disembarking the plane to the hotel, which lies just a 3 minute walk away from the airport arrivals. It turned out, though, that the location was really the only thing this hotel has going for it.The SERVICE: Good.On arrival, they could not find the reservations for several of us. It turned out that they had printed our submitted list of names, but only the first page. We sent two pages. This was, however, fixed quickly enough by the nice girl at reception, by entering our names manually. Still, though: this is a hotel - reservations is what they do. So this shouldn't happen. My TV was not working when I arrived, but I informed the reception and it was promtply fixed. The waiters were showing very good service throughout my 3-day stay.The ROOM: Acceptable.I was given a rrom on the 4th floor - room 5526. The general standard of the room was as should be expected: it had a bath, a minibar, a safe, a desk with a phone and hairdryer, a chair, small table and a Corby trouser press. On arrival, the room was clean and tidy; the standard is from the late 1990s, not too worn and the bathroom has definitely been refurbished recently. There is free wi-fi in the whole hotel. The TV has the standard Scandinavian channels and also BBC and some other foreign news channels. I was given a room with two beds which seemed happy to slide around (it turned out they were on wheels).The VIEW: Non-existent. No, seriously, this is an airport hotel, so don't expect to see the Grand Canyon. What you see is a grey hotel building, the airport parking lot, a railway station and the highway.The LOCATION: Excellent if all you want is a meeting point. Just a 3 minute walk from the airport arrivals hall. Also good connectivity with Oslo via the airport express train (and others). There are, however, no attractions nearby - for that you'll have to take the bus/train into the city. What's wrong with that? Well, transportation is not cheap.The FOOD: Poor. The buffet lunches were OK because we could pick what we wanted from the decent array of foods. However, whenever the kitchen was involved in making something, the standard fell. We were served baked salmon, which was dry, a deer steak, which was ... dry. The pork fillet we got the next day was also ... you guessed it - dry. It seems that the chef's life motto is "well-done". Most of these foods were either tastesless or salty. The desserts were all right, but the wines throughout our stay were unacceptable. The bar was all right, although it got quite crowded.The CONFERENCE FACILITIES: Acceptable. Toilets were a bit difficult to find, so those could be located more conveniently. The meeting halls were all right and as said before, the service was good, so there were refreshments outside - both fruit, some cake-like things and tea/coffee machines that were always stocked. There were power outlets to charge our PCs, and the microphones and projectors were working well. Some rooms were small, others very large - and the latter could be divided by a retractable wall. So as for using this hotel as a conference site, it was quite all right.The CONCLUSION: For having a conference, meeting busy people from all over the country, this is a good place. It seems, though, that the hotel does not have to make an effort in other areas, as people will come here for the location even if the rest of it is sub-par. The really big drawback was the food, which really should have been better.

Warmly greeted at check-in and upgraded to junior suite. Great Scandinavian design, light and airy room feeling. Bathroom is very plain and boing as usual in Norway. Always pleased to have proper shampoo, conditioner etc bottles at Radisson Blu. Very nice bed and great noise insulation as I could not hear a single airplane. Fast and free internet.Very sumptuous breakfast spread, including waffles. Good selection of organic foods.Best part is of course the 2 minute walk, mostly under roof, to the airport terminal.No welcome amenity received as Gold elite Club Carlson, which is disappointing.
