simple basic and affordable
A 15 minute drive from Tegel airport, check in was fast staff very efficient and do understand English, was there to attend ITB so they gave me a map and the directions how to reach ITB Room was basic, clean and appropriate. Found the breakfast a little expensive however was a good spread though. close to the underground and location is not that bad. A good restaurant bang opposite the Ibis and the food quality at the EL Dorado was awesome

Recommend the Ibis Tegel
Arrived clate (after 10.30 pm) and were quickly checked in . We had a couple of beers in the bar where the service was excellent , a good nights sleep and the breakfast selection and surroundings were also just right

We loved it!
My friend and I stayed at this hotel last August. The hotel itself is great! We loved it! The building is new, there is anough space in the rooms, the bathroom is good. The interior is typical for the Ibis hotels. It is clean, the bed is good, the staff is friendly. Most of all we liked the breakfast. It was outstanding if comparing with other hotels of this level. I think there was everything one need, and very tasty. It is completely worth the money you pay for it. The hotel is situated in a calm district far from the city centre, but there is a metro station not far from it. But it is not close to the airport, as it is supposed to be. And it is not that convenient to get there (one has to take metro, than change for bus, and it takes some half an hour; there is no direct bus to Tegel airport from the hotel).

good option
The hotel is located in a quite quiet place close to the underground station ResidenzStrasse in a 5 minutes walk (exit to the alley - follow the signs; when out turn 180 to face the street - the hotel will be on your right in some 300 m along the street and visible). While access to the city center is simple, to reach Tegel airport using underground and bus is not convenient (no shuttle from the hotel) though taxi is affordable and fast - ¿¿¿15 & 15 min to get there. Traffic is OK all day long. The hotel staff was helpful. There is a nice looking German restaurant with national cuisine in a separate building just in front of the hotel however we did not have time to taste it. Surroundings look like a nice dormitory suburb - in winter snow it looked very X-mas-like. A good option for a short stay if booked cheap in advance.
