Did the job
I was needing an airport hotel due to a project in the area. The hotel was clean, reasonably priced (for Norway) and the breakfast was good. It is near absolutely NOTHING. There is no place to walk or even a convenience store nearby so it is not a base for excursions as everything is very far away and even getting back to the airport costs. I had a hamburger and a beer my first night and it set me back $41. However, that kind of food pricing appears to be the norm but you are a captive audience lacking a car.

Not a very good experience
Indifferent staff, thin walls, hard beds, missing towels, and a poor breakfastbuffet. I also don¿¿t like the fact that the check in counter is right up by the bar. As I came to check in, I had to struggle through a maze of people just to be able to reach the counter. Not cool - nor practical - while carrying suitcase, a carry-on and a handbag. Not coming back.

Serves a purpose
This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin... It is an airport hotel, nothing special at all just an airport hotel. The restaurant is pretty good considering and much better than I thought it would be and the service was excellent. The staff in general at this hotel are very nice and extremely pleasant. Don't expect much other than that as it is pretty basic but then again for Norway the price is pretty good. Bus service to the airport is regular an quick and wit 3 per hour there is always one to suit.

Convenient for airport, reasonable price (for Oslo)
Short weekend trip to Oslo for a friend's birthday. This hotel was sort of convenient in that it's only 10 minutes from the airpor by bus transfer, and the airport is a 20 min train journey to Oslo centre. But beware: GBP7 each from hotel to airport one way, and GBP34 each from airport to Oslo return. Yes! So if you stay at the Best Western Gardemoen, a return trip to Oslo for the day for two people costs GBP96 (approx, depending on how far sterling has crashed), before you've even had lunch. Norway is expensive!!Hotel was sort of contemporary, efficiently friendly staff, breakfast fine (DIY pancakes fun!), reasonably clean, a bit utilitarian, shower-room a corner cut off the bedroom, furniture and furnishings which looked like it'd been recycled from a city centre 4* into a utlity hotel. But helpful staff, and they serve Earl Grey tea at breakfast, and the DIY pancakes are good fun to make (did I mention that already?) with a choice of four jams and several fruits.I guess it depends on what you want from a hotel, how important the location is, and how much you can afford :)

Functional place
Others have got this right; it's in the middle of nowhere, 70 NOK's on the shuttle bus to the airport (every 20 mins), good food but at crazy Norwegian prices and a free computer to use near reception. The chicken and bacon caear salad is indeed great but not quite so sure about the herring pancake for breakfast.I found the reception staff courteous and helpful but two of the restaurant staff were artificial and mannered, behaving as though they had just been on customer satisfaction course. On my first night I had to push two single beds together to make a king size. I liked being able to pick up cups of tea and decaff coffee from the breakfast room any time. Functional but reasonable. It would be good if the manager would stop copying and pasting the same guff below each comment - it gives me the impression that the customers are just not up to his expected standard.
