The staff was polite and did its best in dealing with my requests/comments during my stay. I stayed here for business in May 2013. The price charged (¿¿86/night) was a bit expensive for the standard of the property. On arrival I examined my room and found hairs (of various lengths) in the outer part of the duvet. I requested a room change and was upgraded to an 'Executive Room' which was roomier than the original one. I was unlucky enough to have this new room smell of cigarettes, but as the hotel was at capacity I had to stay there the first night and by having the A/C on all the time, the smell was greatly dealt with.For me, the highlights of this hotel are the attitude of the staff which was positive even in the face of my room problems and the food which was of good quality. Standard rooms (e.g., my original one) do not include soap bars, but a wall-mounted dispenser, as available in some gyms. They have a banner next to reception advertising the ¿¿25 upgrade to an Executive Room which does include soap bars! The rooms are fairly aged, which it is not uncommon in the UK. The second bathroom (I don't remember the first) was clean and I have no complains about it.An irritating feature of this hotel are the irons: they have low power irons without steam! When asked for a proper iron, hotel staff said these were taken away because they triggered the sensitive fire alarm.

This is our third stay at this Hotel. We opted for a Dinner Bed & Breakfast package to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Staff are friendly and the food was top notch. I would echo the comments of others in agreeing that the public areas of the hotel are starting to look tired, as was our room. Notwithstanding this, the room was spotlessly clean. The hotel is a convenient base for exploring Glasgow and is only an hours drive away from the ferry terminals which serve the Firth of Clyde ferries (i.e. Arran, Bute, Cowal peninsula etc). Leisure facilities are good also with a nice warm pool. Will be back.

We needed to visit Glasgow for a disability conference in late May, so on March 18th. I rang the Crowne Plaza to book an accessible room, I must have been talking to central reservations because I was told that the hotel did not have a suitable room available, but an accessible room was available at the Holiday Inn at East Kilbride. After explaining my requirements I booked that room for three nights. On arrival the disabled access door was out of order and sealed off which meant that I had to tackle the automatic revolving door, after a couple of knocks trying to use this door my wife found a stop button so we were able to stop the door and push it manually. On approaching the receptionist with confirmation in my hand she spent a long time studying her computer screen, "Can't you find us?" I asked "Y-Yes" she replied hesitantly. Looking at me she stated that the accessible rooms were at the far end of the hotel and that I would find it easier to have a closer room and that she would upgrade us to an 'executive room'. We agreed with this and then asked for help with our luggage (as my wife has serious health problems and cannot lift heavy items). After a long wait an arrogant female with a face like thunder arrived to 'help' us.On arrival at our room we took a look at the bathroom, the walk in shower had a 9" step and no grab handle, totally unsuitable. We rang reception to ask for a bath board only to be told that the hotel had no accessories for the disabled. At this point my wife went down to reception to ask for the original accessible room. She was told that we could change to that room but only for one night, so obviously they had double booked. My wife asked to speak to the Duty Manager who turned out to be the arrogant female so we got nowhere. Luckily I had a shower stool and a bath board of my own in the car so my wife fetched the bath board. The bath turned out to be slightly wider than average so the bath board only just fitted but I thought that it would be O.K.. Unfortunately on the second morning the bath board slipped and I fell into the bath screaming in pain.I was now stuck in the bath without my leg caliper. My very upset wife came to my rescue, I was thinking that we would have to call the Fire Brigade to rescue me. After a lot of ingenuity I managed to lift myself up and my wife managed to get the bath board under me, three times during this episode I caught my backside on the lever tap which scalded me. On going down for breakfast I insisted that my misfortune be recorded in the hotel accident book and whilst having breakfast a much more pleasant duty manager came to tell me that we would be charged half price for one night as compensation. Luckily I was not seriously injured, but still have huge bruises. Holiday Inn is no place for the disabled !Our room certainly did not have the feel of an executive room being dull, small and dingy.The evening meals were fine.

On arrival we were greeted warmly and all the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Our room on the ground floor was spacious clean and well furnished but showing it's age. The bathroom had a bath with shower above it, a couple of the wall tiles were broken and the general impression is of it being very clean but tired. We found the beds were too soft,but that is down to personal preference. We paid a reduced rate so felt it was good value and well placed for exploring in and around Glasgow.

We stated here after a 50th party and I have yo say the room( a suite) was VERY tired looking. I must say that the room was spotless and sheets were very clean, but the leather sofa looked about 15 years old and the overall look of the room didn't impress. TVs were about 10 years old, wallpaper peeling and shabby. We paid for 1 soup and 3 rounds of sandwiches on room service. I was astounded when my wife told me that it came to ¿¿24!!!!!All in all the Holiday Inn needs to get into this decade and take a leaf from the likes of premier inn in terms of value, and a slick modern look.
