We stayed in the hotel for one night at the beginning of our trip and another at the end. The first room was incredibly small for two people (room 227). You could not open the window and the bathroom door at the same time. Breakfast is good but expensive (170 DKK each). The second night we asked for a bigger room and got a junior suite. Lovely view but the first floor was quite small and cramped. If you are thinking about staying at this hotel, you need to decide if the location is worth the price. Haven't stayed at any other hotels in Copenhagen so we don't have anything against which to compare this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel in April of this year and unfortunately were very disappointed and ended up really regretting it. We actually targeted it due to its undeniably great location and the historic building, and were quite encouraged by many of the other reviews. However after staying there we were amazed that more people have not commented on just how noisy it is! I can honestly say that I have stayed in hotels in capital cities all over the world and I wouldn't consider myself a 'big complainer', but this is actually one of the noisiest hotels I have ever stayed in; There is literarily noise from everywhere - the cobbled streets outside, the boats coming in and out the canal, the bar/breakfast room on the ground floor with chairs that get scraped across the floor continually, the paper thin walls meaning that you hear everything from the next door rooms - overall, it was just constant. We had actually paid for a superior room and did ask about changing rooms after we arrived - so although the staff were polite and helpful and right away seemed to understand there was a noise issue, all we were offered was a cheaper room that by their own admission would 'merely be even smaller but not necessarily any quieter', even on a much higher floor. This was very disappointing and therefore we were stuck with it with no recompense.The other major complaint was the state of the bathroom. Although we were happy to accept that the building is a converted warehouse and so a certain amount of 'rustic charm' could be expected - this was far beyond that and in reality was actually just tired, dirty and in dire need of renovation. Most of the time we were there the toilet didn't flush properly and the shower, which was just a rusty old fitment in the corner, only had a limp dirty curtain around it, which did nothing to stop the entire bathroom being soaked every time it was used. I don't think you should have to use pool shoes in a hotel bathroom, but that's what we resorted to here since it honestly just didn't feel clean enough to be in with your bare feet. So overall I was very let down by the standard in this hotel, the fact that it is incredibly noisy and although it is a lovely building from the outside and in a great location, it's perhaps one to avoid if you have any sort of reasonable expectations of a clean bathroom and a good nights sleep. Would never stay there again.

This hotel is a great location and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately that's where the good stops. When we got to our roomb I was shocked. It looked like something out of a 1980's horror movie. The bathroom was like something you would find in a camper and the room hadn't been updated in 20 years. I complained to find out half the hotel had been updated and for 60 more a night I could move. I did. The room was much better. But don't go here expecting more than a 3 star and that is with the upgrade

We stayed for a long (honeymoon) weekend. The location is fantastic, at the quiet far end of Nyhavn, with all of its great bars and restaurants in easy walking distance of the hotel. The centre of town for shopping etc is also a short stroll away. The handy bus that stops right outside the hotel is the 'tourist special' that plies a convoluted route through the city, passing anything and everything of interest - not quick, but it'll get you where you want to go... Our room was slightly shabby, particularly the bathroom - a nordic wet-room, that meant that pretty much everything gets soaked by the shower, including the towels. However, this was all forgivable, particularly as the delightful staff went out of their way to fix a 'pushed-together twin' bed into a double proper for us newly-weds. Try to get a breakfast-included package, as paying by the day is VERY expensive. Great breakfast, though - just not worth 170 DKK! The restaurant, also, looks expensive and so we didn't eat there. There are many and varied options on the doorstep.

I stayed at this hotel mid-April 2013 of for 7 nights on business. Walking into the hotel the lobby is quite nice and not like the cookie cutter lobby of a chain hotel. I stayed in room 125 which was small but had a double bed. The bed was decently comfy. The view from the room was a building next door which I think must've been apartments of some kind as I saw people and furnishings which appeared to be of a residential nature. Having said that, you can tell the building was rather close. I couldn't really keep the drapes open for light as there were no sheers. The lighting in the room was dark; overall the room was dark. There was a small desk but I could not sit at it because there was a beam which came down so low I could not pull the chair out. I worked on the bed. The room had wooden floors rather than carpeting which I appreciate as I don't care for walking around on carpet which I know is not cleaned on a regular basis.The bathroom was pretty roomy for a European hotel bathroom. Small shower which the water spray ended up on the floor since there was the typical half door as the enclosure. The disappointing thing about the bathroom was the floor was not heated. Something I miss in the colder regions. Toiletries, if needed, and ample amount of towels were provided.As normal breakfast was included with the room and was quite nice with a lot of variety - cold cuts, veggies, bacon, eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, coffee, tea, juice, breads, and the like. Breakfast didn't start until 07.00 which made for a bit of a rush for me when as I needed to catch a taxi at 07.30 to make it out of the city center to the office by 08.00.The location was the best thing about the hotel. I could walk everywhere I wanted to go; from the numerous amounts of restaurants along the Nyhavn canal to the royal castle to shopping on the main strip to the Little Mermaid. Great, great location.The price worked out to be about $305 per night, incl tax after converting to USD. Seems a bit above average. I will be traveling back to CPH 3 times in the next 3 months and would stay here again, if space is available, although there are numerous hotels in the area to choose from.Other items to note:-- The wireless could be spotty but the room had a ethernet connection but no cable I could find. Luckily, I travel with one. -- The hotel offers room service but the menu wasn't all the great.-- Apparently the restaurant is supposed to be very good. I looked at the menu and it was nothing spectacular and I never really saw it busy.-- There is no fitness center at the hotel which seems to be common.-- Staff was very friendly and helpful.-- Taxis are very quick to arrive once called.
