Reasonable hotel in a good location
I booked last minute for a room here. The room I got for 1595kr was a tiny room. It was functional and clean. It was good for a short stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is nice. It's very close to the royal palace and ferries.

Lovely location, traditional feel
Our third stay here, primarily because of the location but also because we prefer the smaller, more personal Strand to the larger, corporate Waterfront Radisson. On this occasion, the welcome was especially warm...we were upgraded to a suite. (We had booked and paid for a room with a view of the harbour)So, we had plenty of room - because we know, from previous visits that bedrooms here can be a little compact. However, the bathroom was still pretty tiny given the extensive suite beyond! Furnished to a theme (Greta Garbo) both the sitting room and the bedroom were accessorised with quite a bit of ephemera - not only photographs on the walls but sunglasses,jewellery and purses in bowls here and there, hats perked on the corner of a chair and so on. For sure, these accesories told the story but ultimately, got in our way and left little room for us to put our things - and there was no desk at which to work. We did, however, have two very comfortable sofas/chaises longues on which to relax (though amusingly, one faced away from the TV)Service and amenities were standard, good quality Radisson fare - our room was sparkling clean (and it can't be easy to clean around all that stuff) and the staff charming and professional. The included breakfast was ok and we appreciated the tea/coffee tray in our room too. The free internet is welcome and surprisingly fast.We love the location of the hotel most of all. It's an easy walk to the old town, to the Djurgarten attractions and to the shopping too, so it suited both myself and my husband who had a business meeting in Ostermalm. Right by the waterside, the Hop on Hop off ferry stops just yards away and opens up the whole city, avoiding the need to walk through crowded streets and busy lines of traffic. Yes, we'd stay here again when next in Stockholm, for sure.

Great central location - small rooms
I stayed for the 2nd time at the Strand Hotel last week for a couple of nights -so I guess that's a recommendation - repeat business. The hotel is right in the heart of things - near the water and near the expensive shops and only a 10 quid taxi trip to the old town. If you fancied a walk you could easily make it to anywhere you wanted to go and the old town and historic buildings are behind it and over a few bridges. The staff are all very friendly and courteous. The rooms a small by most standards but kitted out ok. The facilities are ok with food being well cooked but from a limited menu - what I had was good. The lounge and bar area are pretty small so it's not a hotel to perhaps spend a lot of time in, but there's too many other interesting things to see in walking distance. I would probably say it's suited to business visitors or couples and despite there being quite a few families there I'd not say the hotel size lends itself to small children. Worth a stay though

No air, no light
Good central location, but if you book a single room they are mostly inside to the courtyard with no natural light and the windows do not open. Quite claustrophobic actually. If you don't like to use the air con (very large and noisy unit given the small size of the room) the air gets bad very quickly. Also rooms in the high teens and low twenties are located near the rooms where laundry and cleaning equipment is stored and can be very noisy. Decoration of the rooms is quite nice and modern, staff generally friendly, breakfast buffet is sufficient. Bed was fairly okay but made a squeaking noisy everytime I turned around. I would only recommend to stay there if you can afford a room at a higher rate, paying almost 2,000 SEK for a small room without light and air is too much and there are better deals to be had in Stockholm.

Beautiful location, staff wonderful
Stayed here on a brief overnight and didn't get much of a chance to explore the hotel. My room was large, modern and had a very comfortable bed! Breakfast buffet was ok but nothing special. Staff were helpful, welcoming with excellent English.
