I only stayed for two nights, but I was sorry to leave. This is a ¿¿¿design hotel¿¿¿, and it has been designed to an inch of its life. The incomprehensible Avalon typography/logo is everywhere, including on the crockery. My room was brilliantly designed. Everything was where it should be, and this included two basins, an iron and ironing board, a fold-out writing desk, two bathrobes, slippers (large and small), a bath in the bedroom, a walk-in shower, good toiletries, and jogging map. The bed was comfortable, with excellent Egyptian cotton sheets, and three pillows of differing softness (nice). The hotel has a feng shui certificate. Form with function.The breakfast is a buffet, but an excellent one. The coffee is drinkable, there¿¿¿s a good choice of fish, cheese, and meat, yogurts, fruit, and juice (including buckthorn and spirulina ¿¿¿ healthy!). Even the scrambled eggs and bacon are pretty good considering they are not made to order. The bar is great. One local told me that she came here because it had the best cocktails in Gothenburg. I can¿¿¿t vouch for this, but they mixed hers with consummate professionalism. I also can¿¿¿t vouch for dinner, as I ate elsewhere, but if I return (and I hope I will), I¿¿¿ll certainly try. It¿¿¿s also ideally situated right next to the Saluhall, so with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The airport bus stops 20m away, and there¿¿¿s a lovely walk (weather permitting) along the nearby Rosenland Canal. It¿¿¿s central but quiet.

Super Nice Design Hotel
Large, comfortable rooms and excellent service at this lovely design hotel close to shopping and restaurants. We stayed during the weekend and did experience some noise during nighttime due to hefty nightlife nearby. We will definitely return to lovely Gothenburg and super Avalon Hotel.

Fantastic Location
You will not go wrong with this hotel, it is plonked right in the centre of Gothenburg leaving everything within walking distance in the City Centre.Travelled in April therefore the pool was still closed, however, the cafe bar part of the hotel was vibrant and a nice area to sit and people watch!The hotel itself had good facilities and I slept like a baby!!All round great place, and recommended for a wide age group.

Great design hotel in fantastic location
One of the coolest design-hotels I have ever stayed in. Some minor maintenance things to look at in the room (a crack in the mirror and a screw missing in the bathroom door lock) but nothing big enough to ruin the great overall feeling. Super sweet and professional receptionists and masterful bartenders, combined with the great location, made this a very memorable stay. I'm already looking forward to going back!

Nice hotel
In the heart of Gothenburg this medium-sized deign hotel is situated. The hotel is equipped with excellent hotel bar & restuarant, Sky pool, friendly personnel and nice rooms Feng Shui-style.We do recommend a visit at Avalon Hotel!
