Location, warm reception and a view of St. Peters
The location of this lovely hotel is absolutely perfect and the staff so kind and welcoming. Patrick at he reception desk sent us to a restaurant near the Piazza Navona where we were given a wonderful table and a complimentary glass of champagne. Our room had a view of St.Peters as well as the roof tops of Rome, a memorable experience on its own. The breakfast was varied and well presented with excellent service. I can not wait to return to this hotle highly enough.

Great location and very friendly staff
This hotel is right in the center of the old city, at only minutes walking distance of all the major sights (Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza Navona). It¿¿¿s located in a centuries old building and although it¿¿¿s quite up-to-date in it¿¿¿s facilities, this inevitably means things like: rooms of different seizes and forms, a maze of small corridors and a claustrophobic elevator. This is of course also the charm of it. The interior decorating is in classic style, maybe a bit too much fore some, but it¿¿¿s definitely up to 4 star standards. My room was small in square feet, but with a very high ceiling, and my bathroom was surprisingly spacious, with lots of marble, a window that could be opened and even a bidet. But my friends bathroom was very tiny with no window and a totally different (quite inferior) decor. The breakfast is great. Strangely enough there¿¿¿s a rather high extra rate for something as simple as scrambled or baken eggs. In combination with the rather steep charges for wifi this impresses as a bit cheap for a hotel with this kind of standing. Why not just raise the room-prices with a few euro¿¿¿s and make things like that included? The staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. Over-all I would definitely recommend this hotel and I¿¿¿m sure to come back.

Great Stay at Hotel Nazionale A Montecitorio
We stayed at the Hotel Nationale A Montecitorio for 4 days, 3 nights during our vacation in April 2013. We took a taxi from the Tiburon train station arriving from Venice and it took about 20 minutes. Check-in and check out was fast and painless. Remember when checking out to have the Italy tourist tax in cash ready. I think ours was 20 Euros for two guests.We were kindly greeted by the hotel staff who had our room ready for us ahead of schedule. The hotel is located directly next door in the same courtyard as the Italian Parliament building and felt very safe and secure.The staff was incredibly helpful giving us tips and recommendations to sights and restaurants all around Rome. The front desk staff was available 24 hours if we ever needed anything.The room was about the size of a US hotel, extremely clean room and bathroom, with a shower and a bathtub, The bed was very comfortable in the room, which also had a large wall-mounted tv. Wifi was made free in the room for 1 hour per day, they it was a charge of 10 Euros. Free wifi was available in the lobby, which also had their won PC to print boarding passes, etc.Breakfast was included and had a nice selection to get the day started. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was in a perfect central location. About a 20-minute walk to the Colosseum and a 30 minute walk to the Vatican and St. Peters. The Pantheon was also less than five minutes away. It was surrounded by dozens of small local restaurants and bars. Giolitti and Grom, which were probably the two best gelato places in Rome are connected on the block, 2-3 minutes away.The only downfall if I had to pick one was that the underground Metro station did not have a close stop, maybe a 15 minute walk. Our next stop was Amsterdam, which we took a plane out of FCO. The hotel set us up with a car service (with a 2 hours heads up) that took us directly to the airport. The cost was 55 Euros and the trip was about 40 minutes.We had zero problems while staying here and would highly recommend it.

Very nice hotel
As most other reviewers mention, the location can't be beat. The hotel is a little older, but is kept up very nicely. The staff is extremely helpful. Could not have been more accomodating. My only complaint is that they limit you to one hour of free wifi access--in this day and age I don't think that is at all reasonable. Once they install the wifi system in the hotel it costs them next to nothing to operate and trying to charge for more than one hour in not something a first class hotel should do. Their "rack rates" are a little on the high side, but they frequently offer special deals. If we are back in the area we would certainly check to see if they are offering any special deals.

What a location
The Nazionale fabulous location central with all the hustle and bustle you get in Rome.The goverment buildings with all the police army and tv cameras.The hotel excellant,clean and roomy what you would expect from an old palace.The staff very attentive and would help always.We changed room on arrival the staff were very helpful and it was no problem. Within minutes the Trevi,Pantheon lots of good local bars and restaurants within easy walk all in all Perfect
