The girls and I that travelled here read that the area around this hotel was sketchy (and this was seconded by a cab driver). The area wasn't the nicest, (we would speed walk to our hotel after exiting the subway station because something sketchy always seemed to be going on outside the stores on the way to the subway) but it was right down the street from a metro stop, so it was convenient enough. It was about a 20 minutes train ride to all of the main attractions in Paris, so again, convenient enough. Upon arrival, we had to pay a city tax of ¿¿¿.99 per person per night. Not a huge deal, but we were caught off guard at the surprise cost. We stayed in room 314: a room with a double bed and a cot and mattress to accommodate three girls. The room had a mini kitchenette, which was perfect for storing some food (which we got from the market on the other side of the street) in the refrigerator, since the buffet breakfast was ¿¿¿10 a day. When we checked out, we found out we had to take out our own trash and clean the kitchenette (not a huge deal, but would have been nice to know in advance so we could have allotted more time to clean before checking out). As other reviews have said, the staff was not pleasant, but we really only have contact with them upon checking in and out.So the room was very nice, but, because of the location, I wouldn't stay here again if I were traveling alone.

We totally agree with recent reviews about the appalling management and staff in this appart hotel. Basically they don't know the meaning of the word hospitality, it is like Faulty Towers! The receptionist was rude on arrival, and gave us the wrong key. There is only enough hot water for one person to shower, so we had no hot water for the rest of the day, and most of the week, including no water to clean the dishes. When we complained to the manager she did nothing about it, we asked for a refund, which she said she would ask head-office about, but she didn't bother until we chased her. We are still waiting. She is incapable of dealing with customers' complaints.There are cleaners but they don't seem to do anything - we were left without toilet roll on more than one occasion, and they never empty the bin - worse, on one occasion we came back to our room and found it left unlocked by the cleaner, anyone could have walked in and stolen our property! The internet service is very poor. When we never cleaned the dishes on departure because of no hot water, as usual, they had the gall to complain to us!In summary, don't stay here unless you don't care about how you are treated by the staff.

Foyer beautiful. Staff great. Room... hmmm... HORRID: unwashed pillows, holes in walls, cigarettes butted out on floor, smoke filled room, kitchenette broken, pots/pans/plates/cuttlery not clean.Booked for 5 nights, stayed one... forced to pay for two.Do not pay anything until you have seen the room...

My review here is more about the management of this hotel than the place or neighbourhood etc. Its the rudest of staff and worst of managment I have ever encountered, they have no sense of hospitality and they just suck. My experince is short below -- they CHARGE you for the whole booking during check-in itself (I had a booking for a month, and they charged me in one go during check in for this).- at one time I did not have enough credit in my cad, and I asked them to charge for 5 days, while I will pay up the rest in 1-2 days, but they didnt agree at all.- if for some reason you have to cut short your trip, then they charge exorbitant cancellation charges (remember you have already paid for whole duration).- not only this, on cancellation, they dont return remaining amount to your credit card (which you used to pay), rathet they say that they will 'wire transfer' to your bank account.- and this 'return' of money (wire transfer) takes them 3-4 weeks. I am still waiting for mine.- they only clean room once a week (that too if you ask to them).- they dont pick up garbage bags from the room.- while checkout you have to clean your own room, and is expected to leave it as you get it. Damn who cleans the hotel room himself, its hotel not my own appartment.- they have worst breakfast.- they have pathetic internet speed.- they cant fix broken things in appt (it took me 5-6 days to get kitchen water leakage issue fixed and they were not ready to change the aptt. too)Basically, they are never there to help you. They have some worst of rules in hospitality industry (which are ofcourse all in there favour), and they dont tell you about it, until you have paid for your stay during check-in.

we arrived to book in at 3pm, but had to wait for 30minutes whilst staff dealt with overbooking and other booking problems, our welcmoe was rude, "sign this, clean your kitchen and dispose of your rubbish before you leave, heres your key.I asked for a cafetiere to make coffee, answer; use the kettle! a bit tricky with ground coffee, this is paris!the room was ok but the carpet was disgusting and I found used condom wrapper by the bed!we found out pretty late that we only had towels for 1.when we left the rude receptionist said" have you cleaned your kitchen and taken out your rubbish" I said about the carpet and she said, its not dirty just old and stained, I told her about the condom and she said sorry.If you want 70's style hostel quality, rude welcome, got to appartcity but we paid 82euros for 1 night for a 40euros quality
