Quality place for a conference!
Stayed at the Novotel for a two day conference this week. Excellent facilities for the conference, canapes on arrival, plenty of still and sparkling water on the tables. Good filter coffee too! Nice double room with a very large comfortable bed. All meals were excellent, my only complaint would be that my friends and I went for food at 8, (dining finished at 9), we had to wait quite some time for food counter to be replenished, when this was done it was with some food that wasn't on the originAl menu. We found this strange however it happened the two meals that we ate there!! Get your act together Novotel you know how many people you are catering for in a conference way before hand! Coffee break was similar with beautiful little tartlets being served, approx about 30 between 80 people and no refill of plates! Nice little pool area which was used by several of my group. Nice polite staff , very good location, near to bay and centre of cardiff.

Disappointed, could have been so good.
We upgraded to an executive room to celebrate my birthday, to enjoy the additional space and amenities, we shouldn't really have bothered. One perk of the upgrade was a Bose ipod docking station, it didn't work. One of the mugs for the in room tea and coffee was cracked all the way through, with an old stain to emphasise this, we thought it would be replaced when we left it on the desk, it wasn't. The bar staff were friendly when they served you, they just always seemed not to be behind the bar when you were waiting. This was commented on by a number of guests. It is also unusual to have to pay for wifi these days, especially in executive room. The saving grace for our stay was the superb breakfast, which offered the full English(Welsh?), a variety of cereals, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, bread, croissants and yoghurts. This was also constantly being replenished. In summary in its excellent location this hotel promises more than it delivers.

Been to this hotel many times,stayed in many hotels in Cardiff and this is the best hotel, good food, comfort swimming pool etc, a little way to walk into town but not to far,you pay extra for parking.

Great stay
Easy to find. 10 mins walk to local eat and drink in town centre. In-house food was dissappointing, broken chair at dining table. Starter was still frozen in the middle. Main courses were OK but nothing to write home about. Good bottle of wine tho.

Poor room for birthday stay
We have just stayed at the Novotel Cardiff and I was very dissappointed in the room, it was clean and the bed comfortable but only one very uncomfortable chair. For soe unknown reason we were given a dissabled room. We have stayed and the Novotel Paddington on several occasions and loved it. We took our grand daughter to Paris where we also stayed at the Novotel and loved it. As it was a birthday celebration I can only say I was very dissappointed. The reception staff were efficent and friendly as were the bar staff. The breakfast was good.
