We stayed here for one night just for a quick break. The hotel is located on a busy street in Western District. It is a very Chinese part of Hong Kong island which adds to the charm of the location. There are lots of local places to eat, a supermarket, a chemist and a convenience store right on the door step. We stayed on the Traders Floor so check-in was on 28/F. The check in was quick and courteous but there was no explanation of the club privileges offered. The room was clean and quite small with a double bed, small toilet cubicle and shower cubicle. The sink is actually in the room just inside the door. The bed was comfortable and there was a nice view of the harbour entrance and across to Stonecutters Island. The club privileges included wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks between 5.30pm and 7.30pm with snacks which included small portions of pasta and chinese dumplings, and desserts. Breakfast was served at the club level but we opted to go the restaurant for the breakfast buffet which was a good standard. Cafe Malacca also did some very nice Malaysian and Singaporean food and the serving staff were attentive. The hotel has an outdoor unheated pool on the roof and a small gym which we didn't use.You should realise that this hotel is a 10 minute cab ride from Central and in a local neighbourhood. However, there are plenty of transport options (hotel shuttle bus, public bus, tram, taxi) to get you around. So, a comfortable stay and good staff - we would recommend it to visitors.

Was at the hotel on 26 Apr 2013 for one night stay.Good:1. Hotel pool view is fantastic as it overlooks the sea,2. Hotel surrounding have some eateries and convenient stores,3. Hotel staff were very friendly from receptionists to housekeeping staff to pool staff,4. Bedding is comfortable and amenities sufficient.5. Near Macau-HK ferry terminal.Not so good:1. Location is a far from the main areas like causeway bay, wan chai etc. It is quite a distance to travel to by electric tram,2. The room i was at had an ordour coming from the toilet. After closing the bathroom door, the smell did not permeate into the bedroom. Did not inform the hotel as i was there for only one night to try out the hotel.3. There were knocking noises from upstairs from about 10pm+ lasting for about an hour. As i was on the 27th floor and 28th is the pool, felt a bit creepy....could be some maintenance works.Frankly, in terms of location, it is a bit far off for me as i usually meet my friends in wan chai/causeway bay. Hotel itself and the staff there are fine. So, very much depends on where your activities are.

I stayed here with my husband for his birthday. The hotel has small rooms, as expected for most HK hotels. When we stayed here, it was already managed by Shangrila so i know its not going to be a bad hotel.Our room was neat, bathroom was small too but still enough space. Clean, which is important. Theres a sink by the entrance door though. Food, theres wasnt that much of variety of food for their breakfast buffet, but still ok. Location was good. Not in Central but transportation was everywhere.We got a harbour view by our window so it works good.

All staff are friendly. Location is not bad, can easy find the public transpotation or use the hotel free shuttle to arrive central district.Room is very nice and clean. The bed is very comfortable. I am sure I will come back again.

Arrived from KL about 3 pm. Room wasn't ready so had to change in restroom for business meeting at 3.30.On return room fine on 22 floor. Fruit and chocolates provided as an apology. Room small but very well designed . great views.Held a reception for 20 people. Good food and nibbles. Service helpful.Breakfast good. hotel is a bit far from transport but Rtm is being extended to reach this area, so I guess it is up and coming.
