The location is the key
We stayed at the Hotel Belloy for 6 nights. The location is excellent for sightseeing and walking to city landmarks. The breakfast was good each morning.The room was small but we are used to that in Europe.The elevator is very small and didn't work one day which was tough since we were on the top floor. The staff was usually helpful when asking for directions and tours.

Good location. Everything Small
I can't compare this with other hotels in Paris having not been before but the first impression of the hotel is that eveything is small. From the reception, the lift, the corridor, the room, the breakfast room, everything is small. One of the lifts was so small it was barely big enough for one person and an overnight bag. The standard room was very clean and comfortable with no street noise although there was some disturbance from slamming doors in the morning. The breakfast was a cold buffet of meats and cheese - quite uninspiring.The soft drinks from the mini bar were free which was a nice touch as was the wifi included in the cost. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful - booking a restaurant when asked. Good location near to Notre Dame and very close to the Metro. If this was the UK, would not stay again at this price. However as this is more expensive Paris I thought this was fair value. This is not a 4 star hotel as claimed though, a good 3 star would be a more accurate assessment

A hotel in the centre of Paris
The Belloy is in an ideal location for exploring the streets and sights of Paris. The deluxe room we had was compact but we wouldn't have expected anything else for the hotels location. The staff were excellent - both friendly and helpful. The breakfast and the supper and the free soft drink mini-bar were well appreciated.

Good value for money -would recommend, and would return!
This Hotel was a wonderful surprise -I'm very happy with my experience, and would consider returning on my next stay in Paris.Firstly, the price I paid (direct from the Hotel website) was a mere ¿¿116, which included 1 night's stay for 2 people, breakfast, 2 glasses of champagne, afternoon tea, amenities,and an alcohol-free minibar. I thought this sounded too good to be true, and having had several awful experiences in Parisian hotels in the past, I didn't have my hopes up.Luckily, I was not disappointed.First of all, the location is fantastic. I love that area of Paris, within walking distance to the boutiques, the tourist attractions and nightlife. My room was very pretty and comfortable (the mattress was incredible), and the double glazing blocked out the traffic noise entirely. I had a small balcony, which was a nice surprise since I'm a smoker.The decoration was beautiful, and although the room itself was relatively small, the bathroom was larger than I was expecting, and the amenities in the room were endless -glasses, tea coffee, minibar, corkscrews, telephone, large tv, blanket, etc etcThe lift is indeed rather small, but I've seen much worse. The corridors are rather small too, but quite frankly, I don't judge a hotel by its corridor size.The breakfast was varied and would suit most tastes although cooked options were limited. Luckily there was a large choice of flavoured teas, juices, yoghurts and pastries so I was happy!The reception were quite friendly, in particular the young guy who was there when I checked in.I do have 2 complaints though, which is why I have not rated this hotel "excellent".1) Although there was no traffic noise, there was rather a lot of noise coming from the rooms on either side of us -we could hear conversations, doors opening and closing, tv, and even some more intimate sounds. It was a bit annoying, although thanks to the great bed, I slept soundly and wasn't woken by any noises in the actual night.2) During check out, I was handed a bill of ¿¿166, although my stay was only meant to cost ¿¿116. Apparently, when I had asked if I could borrow a hairdryer from reception, they charged me ¿¿50 on my bill for it -I laughed and explained that I just wanted to use the hairdryer, and not buy it, but the guy at the front desk didn't seem amused, as if he was expecting me to not have spotted the "mistake" and paid the full ¿¿166. Obviously, within a minute, he had removed the ¿¿50 from the bill and I paid the correct amount, but that little hiccup did disconcert me a little...All in all, for a central, pretty and rather cheap place to stay in Paris, I would definitely recommend staying here.
