Comfortable and quiet
A friend and I stayed in a twin room and it was a proper twin with reasonable space to move about. We did find it disappointing that we had to pay so much / extra for wifi access in our room which is why this didn't get full marks. The bar was small but well-stocked and had a reasonable range of wines that were not too expensive. The bowl of free fruit was a nice touch.We were really pleased with the location; it is very close to a metro stop and also within easy walking distance of the centre of Brussels.

Idyllic city hotel
A unique centrally located property, very different from what you expect from a standard city center hotel. The atmosphere is more like at countryside. As other reviewers note the courtyard is absolutely lovely, especially when I stayed in April and the cherry trees were blooming. What a wonderful place to have a glass of champagne in the middle of Brussels! The breakfast was very good and the restaurant presumably also although I didn't have a chance to try. I had a very nice loft type of room in two levels at the first floor. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, all in all very nice if you don't mind too much the old fashioned taps and shower in the bathroom.

Five Star quality at a budget
Stanhope hotel is located just between the Financial and the Diplomatic Districts of Brussels. During the week they are quite busy, but during weekend they sell their rooms at budget prices. Rooms, service and breakfast all at five star level. Wonderful decorated in Old English Style with everything you can imagine. On a 2 minute walk from Royal Palace, 10 from Palace de Justice and 15 from Grand Market. One night is not enough to fully judge a hotel, but if you need a first class hotel for a weekend out, this might be the one.

Very pleasant hotel with lovely courtyard
More of a boutique hotel than a chain. A large reception area leading out to a lovely courtyard with blossom trees and numerous tables for dining/drinking. A very small, but pleasant bar area. Room was large and bright and very comfortable. Hotel seems intent on 'green' practices - lights come on and go off as you move around the hotel. Would certainly recommend it, and suspect rooms are available at somewhat less than the c¿¿¿400 I paid for one night.

A little bid of the Med in Brussels
Wonderful courtyards, ideal for a drink and chat in the spring sunshine. Gives it more of a southern European feel. Service is high quality, food good and bedrooms comfortable. A shame again though no kettle or tea. All well appointed and very central, and on a human scale
