Nice stay
Very nice stay. The room was nice slept well each night. Location was excellent could take either the metro or cab into the city. Alexanderplatz was very easy to get to. Staff at the hotel was great and the breakfast was pleasing to the appetite. Really not a bad place to relax and have access to the city without driving yourself. .

Decent location, decent hotel
We grabbed a quick weekend in Berlin to celebrate my wife's birthday and had heard that Prenzlauer Berg was the area to stay. I had seen on a website that you can estimate taxi fares, and found that 24 Euros would get us to the Hotel in Prenzlauer Berg from Tegel Airport - 22 Euros as it happens.The hotel has a nice front lobby, and does appear a higher grade than the Holiday Inns that we have in the UK. The room is a great size, with an excellent bathroom - plenty of room for two in the shower ;-)The only indicator that some modernisation is required was the large CRT TV - but we came to this hotel for its location, not the amenities... One other thing - the rooms were pretty hot! We had the window open each night, even with the air-con on full blast... WiFi is easy to join and you get an hour free each day.All the staff were excellent. Helpful and very polite, with excellent English (ideal as my German is..rusty to say the least). The breakfast was very good, and set us up each day for some pretty hectic sightseeing. The tram outside the hotel gets you past Alexanderplatz and a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate in less than 10 minutes, and there are some great restaurants and bars a just a short walk away in Prenzlauer Berg.All in all, a good hotel, at a great price, in a good location for sightseeing, eating and drinking!

Decent hotel
Stayed twice at this hotel in Berlin. Nice, modern rooms, spacious clean bathroom. No free wifi (i think it was 10e/day). Very good breakfast. Hotel has a small gym. There is sushi place right next to the hotel that has good sushi for fair prices. Lot of shops around (2 supermarkets across the street). train station just outside the hotel.

Great Hotel for exploring the East
A good quality Holiday Inn - modern and welcoming. Its built over 6 floors with half the rooms facing onto an internal courtyard and the rest facing out - so if you want a view ask for it. Its a very quiet location - with just one nearby bar. But the Tram goes from right outside and that will get you to Alexanderplatz and the rest of Berlin, and the local station is direct to Schoenefeld airport. We stayed 3 nights here and used it as a base - being honest I would go for something a bit more central- but at ¿¿¿80 a night its what you pay for.

Nice hotel, but not perfect. Worth it if you get a good deal though
I'm not sure what I think about this hotel.It's very easy to get to the hotel - the S9 S-bahn goes directly from Schoenefeld airport to Prenzlauer Alee station in roughly half an hour from what I remember. First impressions were good - got to the room and it was clean and spacious.The shower was nice but we had to hold the shower head rather than simply stand under it.Another negative would be a lack of safe for passports and Euros, which considering it's supposed to be a 4 star hotel surprised me. The lifts on the 5th floor (where we stayed) were a bit temperamental. The first day we waited for 20 minutes for the lift to come, because if someone from a lower floor presses the button (even if they press it after you), they take priority. Advise if you stay on the 5th floor would be to walk down to the 3rd floor then press for the lift there, or simply walk all the way down. Going up on the lift was fine.The AC/Heating is a bit funny - the first night we got there we had to sleep with the window open because it was too stuffy (but -2 degrees outside).Can't comment on breakfast because we went out every morning to a cafe, but from what we saw it looked nice.Location wasn't a problem - there is a tram directly opposite the hotel which takes you to Alexanderplatz in around 10 mins - which is very nice - where you can change to any other U-Bahn or S-Bahn link.One day we thought we would try the S-Bahn from Prenzlauer Allee to change for the U Bahn at Shoenhauser Allee - don't bother - the frequency of the S-Bahn is poor so it's better to do the tram.Berlin is an interesting city - I wouldn't say it's my favourite, but there are pockets of interest. I particularly liked the East Side gallery and the Reichstag area, and because we went over Christmas we were spoilt for choice with loads of lovely Christmas markets around every corner. The 3 day Museum card giving you access to loads of museums is worth it, and Potsdam is also a must!To sum up - the hotel didn't nothing 'bad' but not sure if it's really a 4 star. We got a good deal though so I guess that makes up for it.
