Lovely building in great safe, well kept location (GY has its share of run down areas as have most seaside resorts) with easy road parking and of road parking available on the owners drive.. This B/B is seconds from the beach and all the local attractions.We were greeted by the owner, a true gent..very warm, very friendly and attentive, he explained that together with his wife the business had be purchased very recently, as a team they were superb with his industry skills and her catering history the place is guaranteed to succeed and I truly wish them the very best of luck.I stayed in room 7 which was a large room, with a double bed and two single beds, the rooms were so clean.. I'm generally paranoid about cleanliness to the point where I take my own pillows to hotels, I can't emphasise enough how much effort had been put into the cleaning and maintenance of the room I had.. I even used the pillows provided!!Breakfast was fabulous, quality food well presented, full English or cereal or both as was my preference, this was a nice 'fryup' not dripping in fat and just the right amount.All in all lovely couple, lovely guest house.. CAN NOT FAULT.

This guesthouse is in the perfect location in Great Yarmouth to all the things you'd want to be close to, on a family break. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious, with comfortable beds. We had a lovely family room with good views. The only problem we had was, the often rude and unpleasant female proprietor, who at times was cold, frank and generally rude. Being a pregnant lady i had only wanted a cup of tea in the evening, when my partner realised, we had used the TWO tea bags that were provided, he asked the female proprietor if we could have another tea bag, to this he was told, there was a shop around the corner and rooms were serviced between 10 and 11 the following day. Fine no problem, we bought our own tea bags. However the next day at breakfast we were met by the same icy female, who created a horrible cold atmosphere and a feeling of rushing us to order our breakfasts. Breakfasts were good quality and tasty, you get ONE of everything.The last morning of our stay, the same icy female was tutting at me as i was trying to help clear the breakfast bowls away, realising i had in fact spilt some milk, she made everyone in our guest party feel rather uncomfortable with the way she had been tutting and stating that she hadn't wanted me to help, she made me feel really small. All in all, this guest house is fantastic - as is Great Yarmouth. Just a shame it wasn't as pleasant as we had hoped.

After staying in great Yarmouth for 10 years at the Hazlehurst Hotel, which has recently been converted into flats, I choose to try out the closely located Elmfield Bed and Breakfast and was delighted with how helpful and courteous the owners were. No sooner had Jackie let us in, my cases were carried upstairs for me, which was a great help, due to my limited mobility and my wife and I were shown to our twin room. The room was spacious, warm and the beds were very comfortable. Wifi was available, a flat screen wall mounted tv and tea & coffee making facilities were at hand. We had a lovely large bathroom with an excellent shower that my wife was very pleased with and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good and flexible enough to suit our time table. A very reliable taxi service was recommended, which was very important, as our car broke down getting there and proved to be just that. My wife and I will be staying here again in November this year and would recommend The Elmfield to anybody looking to get great value for money and easy access to Great Yarmouths top attractions, as it is superbly located with ample free parking nearby.

Very nice and clean, nice hosts as well. Bar advertised on sites but not been there for a year.The breakfast was nice and hot, could do with better quality sausages .Rooms nice clean and spacious but no glasses just plastic cup for a drink( there are cups for tea etc.Free Internet advertised but in room charges are a pound a day. We did'nt pay though.

Booked a 2 night stay at the Elmfield in a family room. It may be a good idea to phone ahead after booking to confirm your expected arrival time. Apparently some of the booking sites don't provide that information in advance and we received a couple of phone calls from the Elmfield en route to check when we were arriving.Guesthouse is very conveniently situated for the seafront, literally being 2 minutes from the seafront and 5 minutes from the main drag and town centre.We were top of house in converted attic but a very comfortable room. Earlier complaints that the family rooms were cold didn't ring true for us although we were travelling in summer season.Don't be misled that parking is a breeze though. On an Augusr weekend, it was actually pretty tough to find a parking space close to the guesthouse.Breakfast was of the usual fare of cereals, toast, full English. The full English was pretty good, but for my wife and I let down with what seemed to be an cheap sausage. At ~¿¿150 for 2 nights for 4 in my party though, it was hard to find fault in the value, but sorry I need to mark down just a touch for that 'bready' sausage.
