Excellent hotel and location. Quiet place to relax and enjoy. The pool villa is spacious with two sunbeds and a lot of privacy. You can stay in your villa the whole time and feel like it is your own private world. Staff is very nice and not intrusive. Very polite and always a smile on their face. We tried the restaurant and the food is great. Try Thai and western food, both are really tasty and same to some of the best and more expensive restaurants in Samui. The resort is very relaxed and we felt good walking around. Lamai is a bit far away from everything and not easy to go to Chaweng but once we got to the hotel we felt good to stay in and enjoy the resort. I would recommend this place to my friends and whoever wants to have a private and quiet stay in Samui. Will surely come back to this great place with great people. the resort is doing renovations but it was not disturbing and good to see that the hotel is actually maintained and looked after.

The hotel has a very nice design but has not been maintained well. We stayed at the pool villa but only used the pool once as there were always leaves and dead bugs in the pool. The cleaning staff did not clean the pool as part of the daily cleaning. One of pillows also had a stain. We left the villa late one day and asked for the cleaning staff to clean the villa at 6pm and were told that it was ok. When we can back to the villa at 11pm the villa was still not cleaned. Apart from the frequent cleaning issues, our stay was satisfactory. The staff were very polite especially the male staff at the reception.

We spend Christmas here and the hotel is amazing. We stayed in the private pool villa and it was everything and more I could dream of!!! The beds are sooo comfy, shower and bath amazing, plunge pool bigger than expected the breakfast really is something else! I have nothing but good things to say about the hotel!

ArrivalThe reception has attentive staff and a stylish look and feel. Water features and a wooden floor give the reception clean lines and a natural feel that blends into the large trees that surround the property. These trees have been incorporated into the overall design of the placing of the villas, reception, spa, hotel pool and restaurant.Check inCheck in was straightforward, with my luggage taken to the room. A delicious drink and fragrant iced towel helped me cool off with as I checked in. The hotel has a ¿¿¿check in as soon as the room is available¿¿¿ policy, so arriving late morning, the room was ready about an hour after arrival.RestaurantThe restaurant has some of the most fabulous views of sea and sand I have had the privilege of gazing out on (96m of beach frontage apparently!). The resort has a private beach, and with only 27 villas, isn¿¿¿t too heavily populated, so there are rarely more than a handful of people on the long clean beach. I enjoyed sitting in the open plan restaurant, with a gentle breeze blowing from the sea, and looking out at the waves. You can also spend time in the sea, although with a private pool in your villa and Samui¿¿¿s deepest hotel pool, paddling was all I did in the sea itself (you would have to go out quite far to get to sea deep enough to swim in). The food in the restaurant is of high quality, although as a vegetarian I felt the menu was somewhat limited. I raised this with the manager, and he mentioned that they are currently creating an updated menu with more vegetarian options. In the meantime, I was able to have anything on or off menu as a vegetarian option, and the food was delicious. Western and Thai options are available. There is only one restaurant in the resort, so you may need to go out if you are staying here a while and want to try other things. At times the service in the restaurant was a bit slow. I didn¿¿¿t have anything pressing so was able to take my time, but had I been in a hurry I might have found this frustrating. VillaI found my Villa (I had a Deluxe Pool Villa, no 11) a spacious and attractive area, with lots of natural light (a must for me). It felt quite large, with the bedroom area separate from a bathroom area, which included one of the largest baths I have seen, in addition to an equally large shower area. Again, the materials all felt natural and minimalist, with grey stone and dark wood used to highlight the area. Facilities in the room were good. I used (free) wifi in all areas of the hotel and never had any issues with this.Good information is provided in the rooms about the hotel, ¿¿¿excursions¿¿¿ and the spa. I found the tone and clarity of the information good ¿¿¿ I enjoyed the apparent sense of humour! This sets the tone for the hotel¿¿¿s customs and unique style, so is worth reading early in your stay.The highlight for me of my Villa was the private terrace and pool area. This provided two sun loungers, two chairs and a table, and a ¿¿¿wide box¿¿¿ lounging area with cushions. And, of course, the private pool. Debris from the trees shading the area does drop into the pool, however, as soon I asked for my pool to be cleaned it was so this was no problem. I was very happy to have so many trees around ¿¿¿ not only did these provide much needed shade but helped to add to the feeling of privacy and solitude. RenovationAt the moment some renovation work is going on to freshen up the X2. All areas are being given a make-over. This didn¿¿¿t really affect my stay, apart from the restaurant being quite busy a couple of times (as some of the restaurant was shut off for renovation). External areasAs well as the beach and private pools in the majority of the rooms, the X2 also has a large hotel pool, which has sun loungers and large orange bean-bags to sit on. A wooden walkway runs between the reception area, the Villas and the restaurant/beach area, which creaks endearingly, but I understand this walkway will also be renovated a
