Southwestern Gaming and Vacation
This property is situated on the beautiful Colorado River. There is plently of gaming available. They have their own beach. There is a water taxi to take you up river to other casinos and the shopping district. There are tours availble of Hoover Dam, Oatman AZ an old mining town on the old Route 66 as well as Grand Canyon tours. If you wish to rent a car you can travel about an hr and 45 mins to Las Vegas. It a very beautiful setting. The Range Steakhouse has outstanding fine dining. There is a superb buffet and also a Mexican restaurant on the property. There are 2 pools, one adult only, as well as a whirlpool outside. There are 3 towers of rooms. One is family, one adult only, and one which you can lodge in with your small pet.The personnel are very gracious and friendly. Also if you choose, there are lots of choices for shows and entertainment if you go online and travel down Casino Drive.

Chill out at Harrahs Laughlin Nevada
A short break away from Las Vegas, we booked into Harras Hotel because it advertised a beac location. The hotel itself was great and the beach was excellent. It was a good location and all the other hotels on the strip were accessible by water taxi, taxi, or just plain old walking. The staff at the hotel were excellent and very friendly, the food was above average in the buffet and the caf¿¿ we used.I would recommend this hotel if you want to chill out and use the beach facilities.

Big on the outside, old dirty on inside
If you are going to go to Laughlin, Harrahs is your best bet, however; it looks great because of it's massive presence and that it is seperated from the boardwalk and the other casinos is a bit deceiving. The adult pool is boring, old webbing lawn chairs, no tables for next to your chair for drinks etc, hot tub heater coils were burnt out and it is just old and small and no views of the river due to the high fence. The food is good here though. The Range Steak House, although a little lacking in the decor of it's sister in Vegas, still has outstanding food and service. fyi, the crab legs are easily enough for 2 as an appetizer and then split one of their steaks for your dinner. Breakfast at the cafe is the same as breakfast anywhere with one exception. The corned beef hash is not out of the can. It was freshly shredded large chunks and very good. Again, 2 adults with a hearty appetite can be happy splitting any of their breakfasts. No nightly lounge with entertainment of any sort here. No piano bar to enjoy some wine and conversation such as in Vegas. You will need to either rent a car or cab it out of Harrahs to get to the Boardwalk and the other casinos if you are not in good shape or have any sort of special needs.NO SAFES in the rooms and no outside bathroom facility to get ready at. That being said, women will hate the rooms as there isn't anywhere to do your make-up or hair outside of the actual bathroom itself. Difficult for two people to get ready to go out. Caution: although we were in a non-smoking room, when we ran our fan, I swear they pumped in the air from the casino because our room just stunk of cigarette smoke. Harrahs really would be the high-end #1 choice if you do go to Laughlin albeit it bit trashy when you head out to the Boardwalk. It didn't appear there were any custodial/maintenance people working outdoors to keep it clean. It had been 15 years since we had been to Laughlin and so we just don't need to re-visit it again, ever.Bypass Laughlin and head to Vegas. It's old, dirty, cheap, and they don't comp you nearly what Vegas does as they know they can get all the locals in on the weekends.

Prices go up during River Run
Every April, Laughlin hosts it's River Run for motorcycle enthusiasts. Because it is a "special event" it is hard to get a good price on hotels and other amenities. For example, the water taxi (which I enjoy) will not sell you an all-day pass during the River Run, so it is $4 per person every time you want to ride it. At Harrah's you are at the very end of the Laughlin strip, so if you are tired of walking you will pay more than normal to get back and forth. The price of your room will depend on what time of year (of course) as well as your status in their Total Rewards club. If you want to use the points you have accumulated as a couple, you will need to call the TR reservation person, and in doing so it costs an extra $5 plus tax. You cannot use points from two people on an online reservation, so you are stuck paying this fee. Also a "security deposit" per day is charged, but you eventually get it back. If you are there for LRR, a man will meet you in the parking lot to take your luggage, but he takes it to the bellhop desk, not to your room. You end up having to tip two different people. The line to check in is enormous in the early evening of LRR. If you are lucky enough to be a Diamond or above (we are not), the line is so much shorter for you--like 5 people vs 50. We were in a King room in the central tower. There were hairs on the bathroom floor and a package of snacks on the bedroom floor from a previous occupant. The sink stopper did not stay closed. The bed was comfortable and had pillows in a variety of firmness. The room did not have a fridge, microwave or coffee maker. I know, the casino hotels want you to buy cold drinks and hot coffee from them. But it's still annoying. The hot water did not completely run out but was definitely cooling by the end of showering. The free drinks in the casino were provided more often than in the big casinos in Vegas, no complaint there. My clothes and hair reeked of cigarette smoke when I got back to my room. The slots were playful this trip; I was able to play quite a while on a few 20s. The cafe served good breakfasts large enough to share for around $10-12. McDonald's food was adequate, coffee good, but slower than you would expect from a fast food place. It is possible to walk to the other casinos, but it can be hot walking along the street. The boardwalk along the river does not go to Harrah's. If you choose to venture forth on foot, there is a staircase to get to the street if you go straight from the hotel through the parking lots and to the right. Better than walking that curvy up-hill entrance road. The staff that I dealt with were all friendly, courteous, and professional. The room was older but not falling apart. If you're not into motorcycles, go anytime except the last weekend in April!

Went in March 2013 and going again!
We were surprised how nice and beautiful the location was, people were friendly, for the price it was well worth it! Got another offer and we are going again and looking forward to it (know what to expect this time). We love what it has to offer!Caution: the cab driver will try and talk you into going away to AVI an indian casino (that is where the locals go, he will say), about 20 miles away, DO NOT GO! Rip off and 40$ for the cab fare, one way!!!!!
