Third happy visit & knew what to expect!
The exterior of the Jayakarta is gorgeous however the interior is yes, very dated, however they were painting walls and staining furniture to the rooms whilst we were there. We booked direct with the hotel and for ten days in a one bed apart and deluxe for the older kids with breakfast it cost us $2149 with airport transfers. We took our 4 boys, ages 4,6,11 & 13 for their first trip to Bali. We stayed in a one bed apartment (Room 6502 on the 5th floor, close to the road & far from the pool) with fold out sofa for our younger boys. We paid for a separate room for our older boys (room 503) on the ground floor in a different building and they loved it. It was clean and well looked after. We stayed for 5 days in our original one bed apartment and I asked to be moved (due to safety concerns of the balcony and loosing the kids running in and out of elevators) and it happened immediately. We had a choice of two apartments (that they gave us the keys to go and have a look and choose from!!) and we chose Room 6156 in the Bali Club Residence, ground floor, private garden! The Staff at the Jayakarta are amazing people! They absolutely adored our children and went out of their way to make our stay even more enjoyable. (Please see the pic of what we came home to every day from our GORGEOUS room manager for our little boys!!!) You can also hire DVD players from the Club Bali with a deposit in case of wet days and for families with young kids like ours, there is a kids club open from 9am - 5pm each day so you can go shopping or get that massage you've been longing for!Breakfast is so-so for the buffet but the guy that does the eggs is amazing! Eggs anyway makes me happy but they do need to put out some baked beans and mushrooms!What people need to understand is the Jayakarta is NOT a 5 star hotel!!! It is a 3.5 star hotel on the beach in a FANTASTIC location and that is why people stay there. My family and I will definately stay again at the Jayakarta Hotel!

Surprise package
Like majority of the reviews here. This isn't a five star resort but it definitely has everything you need. Stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Large lounge area and good kitchen space. Spacious rooms with tWo bathrooms. Balcony off the two bedrooms great and private.. Buffet breakfast not the best but it allows you the opportunity to experience other places like KuDeTa awesome place to eat!!! Rooms serviced daily without fail.. Pool area great and hotel close to other venues.. Was happy with stay here and would be happy to stay here again to save cash on accommodation.

Stayed Here for 3 nights. paid for delux rooms & they were dirty, bugs in cups, midgies around the bathroom vanity, water stains throughout the bathroom, cupboard doors were broken, smelt of cigarettes, not room lights only bedside lights, nothing like the photos. I expect paying around $100+ for a night in bali would give you a rather nice room. told reception about the room, they said they'd take a look & clean. went back and it was still the same, but smelt of cleaning products. still had midgies in sink and cups were still dirty. we were moved to another delux room, with ocean views, close to the pool &restaurant. much cleaner. still wouldnt class the room as delux... i would hate to see what the standard was like. the staff were quiet rude. especially when getting things from the safe. no smiles or hellos. grounds/ bar staff were kind. breakfasts were good, not enough tables and chairs for the amount of people. lunch & dinner menus/ food was disgusting. dont order the burgers or fish n chips. fish was brown & so over cooked that it was like leather. it was definitely a family hotel, but i do think you are paying too much for the rooms, for what they really are.

Great location in legian-great for kids
Hotel staff are all very pleasant and can't do enough for you. Rooms are pretty dated with no DVD player, but available to hire. The resort was very busy at times and some mornings unable to get a table for breakfast or sun lounger around the pool, as folks put their towels down and leave for hours to return to their "bags" lounger. Good location to jump in a cab to kuta or seminyak.

Jayakarta Private Appartments - Barbs
We keep coming back to Jayakarta, simply for value for money. We have recently returned from a month in Bali, and we stayed in Barbs Private Appartments at the front of Jayakarta Hotel for the first week. We found the appartment clean, although like the rest of the property, a little tired. Having said that, you can't beat the value for money. We had two interconnecting one bedroom appartments, which gave us two bedrooms, two living rooms, two kitchens and two bathrooms. We were on the second floor, which had nice balconies over looking the front of the property. Some complain about the distance to the pool. It is a pleasant walk, not too far through nice gardens. There are three large pools. Two together and one aside, which is quieter. We have stayed here a number of times and find that restaurants are not that great. Each time we have opted for an easy in resort meal, we have been disappointed. The good news is that there are heaps of really nice and good value restaurants along the beach or along the road at the front. The location is great. We would highly recommend Jayakarta for part of a Bali stay, particularly for kids. Being on the beach and going down for sunset is perfect. The booking service through Barb was easy and reliable, no issues. We found the service in the actual resort, a little under whelming compared to other places we have stayed, but not a major issue.
