We had an engagement party to attend in Bacchus Marsh and decided to spend the night in the area.Tabcorp Park Hotel suited our needs perfectly. It is a very simple setup (to the point our room felt a little empty) but I was very impressed with almost everything. The receptionist went out of his way to accommodate us, the room was immaculate, mini bar reasonably priced, room temperature fine, great bathroom setup (bath and shower) and great water temperature and pressure. The wardrobe was stocked with extra pillows and blankets. For the price - it was amazing.My only criticism is that they use recycled toilet water. Whilst I know this is a good thing environmentally, I can't say I am a fan of discoloured, speckled water...

The room was exceptionally large, plenty of storage space, king sized bed, lounge area, table and chairs as well as a large desk area. The bathroom was sensational, separate shower and a bath, extremely modern and very spacious. Sky racing in room. The room would be very suitable for an extended stay, but we were only there on race night. It was a bit disappointing however to find when we arrived that we had not been allocated a room overlooking the track, when we had travelled all the way from Darwin to be here. We tried to negotiate to change but it wasn't possible. We were told that we should have been asked about our preferences when we booked. We had booked via the Internet so this is something you need to consider when booking. The hotel did have free laundry (washing and drying) facilities which was a nice surprise. The rate also included a fully cooked breakfast. The hotel is conveniently situated just off the freeway exit at Melton. Not far to Melbourne CBD via the freeway. Parking is available on site. The club has an excellent bistro with different daily specials and a large gaming area.

The first, relaxing and recovering, the second ¿¿¿ of course -- racing.Our accommodation was splendid. A huge, calm lounge and terrace overlooking the home straight, two comfy bedrooms, excellent bathroom and a highly useful kitchen, all in a simple, clean, modern style. But we were to find that the hotel has a serious handicap. Food. The restaurant serves racecourse food. Pub food. Catering-pack cuisine. Cardboard and sauce, Burgers, pasta and parmas. And the bar! The staff did not know what a Bloody Mary was, and the manageress escaped the situation by declaring they were ¿¿¿out of tomato juice¿¿¿. ¿¿¿Continental breakfast¿¿¿ in the morning was of no Continent that I ¿¿¿ thankfully -- have ever visited. Things in plastic, things in boxes. vile! at $500 odd a night? The inedible ¿¿¿full breakfast¿¿¿, next morning, featured what I am certain were egg-powder scrambled ¿¿¿eggs¿¿¿! Vile!But we were not deterred. If it stinks, hold your nose! We had a kitchen, we had a chef, and a huge shopping centre between us and Graeme¿¿¿s place ... Ryan and I invaded the seafood department and stocked up with goodies ¿¿¿ salmon, prawns, scallops, fish for chowder, et al -- with which to make our own de luxe race-night buffet.

This has to be the best hotel I have stayed in this side of Melbourne.Because it is attached to the trotting complex I had always disregaded it, but I gave it a go and found a top quality hotel. Even when there is racing on it is nice and quiet.The rooms are large, comfortabl and well furnished. The bathroom is excellent with both a bath and separate shower.I haven't tried dining in the bistro in the evening, it's probably not my scene.A 5 minute drive into Melton acceses some average take aways.In the morning there is a simple continental breakfast of juice, cerial, toast & coffee. Adequate to start the day.I am happy to make this my base when working this side of Melbourne.

Stayed here for 1 night in Track View Room. Rooms were large, clean and modern but a little on the basic side. Bathroom was nice with a bathtub and couldn't have been cleaner. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff were friendly and check in/check out was fast. Tabcorp complex also contained a great Bistro, Pokies and Sports Bar which were all good ways to kill a few hours while staying in Melton. Standard rooms have a carpark view while the Track Side Rooms obviously have views of the Tabcorp Park Harness Track. If you have to stay in the Melton area then you can't beat this hotel.
