A bit expensive for what you get
Given the price, we were expecting a bit more. It was our first trip to the Daintree, which was nice. But our stay at the lodge was just average given the price we paid. Ben (the host) seemed a bit annoyed with us the entire time, like he was doing us a favour for staying there. The rest of the staff were absolutely lovely. The breakfast and dinner were both good. The cabins were clean enough, but because it was "eco", the lights were so dim that we couldn't even read in our cabins in the evening. On our last night there, it rained during the night. We woke up to a puddle of water in the middle of our cabin due to a leak in the roof. I'm not saying I didn't like it, but that it was overpriced.

Two nights in the tropical wilderness sounds good - and this is the place to do it. This was a very comfortable stay for the family - we had two bungalows which were very well appointed - comfortable bed, nice bathroom and DVD player/library (no signal for TV/GSM) Ben the host is very welcoming, and a good organiser. The meals are very good, as is the cold beer at the end of the day. A very relaxing break in an interesting part of Australia.

Tranquility in the wilderness
Stayed for two nights and was really pleased with the room and general location. Disappointed the swimming pool was out of service due to a fault. Did not manage to soot a cassowary. The only draw back was the mosquitos that don't seem to be put off by any brand of repellant.

An absolute treat for everyone apart from city softies.
This is an exceptional place to stay and much more luxurious than we had expected after reading some of the reviews on this site before we went. We were expecting to be picking off bugs, kept awake by tree frogs and searching for snakes but it was so different. The standard of accommodation was better than many city hotels and the quality of food served in the restaurant was outstanding. It is hard to imagine that you could dine in such luxury in a jungle. The the ambient sounds of tricking water and birdsong were like relaxing mood music. Anyone who can not enjoy staying here should stay at home with their cuddly toys.

Amazing and special place in Daintree
We had a fabulous 2 nights stay at the lodge. The lodges are beautiful, clean and have the basic luxury! I am a city person but I loved staying at the rainforest where at night you can hear the animals and nothing else. Ben is an amazing host and cooks nice breakfast and dinners! We felt very welcome! It is a very special place and we would definitely recommend this to anyone!
