Spacious hotel with motorcycle rental (200 Baht a day). Breakfast Buffet was not bad. Paid access to internet in room but free lobby internet.Close to some very lovely places to eat and lots of shops close by. Beach is about 10 mins walk. Drove to Krabi Town with motorcycle in 20 to 25 mins. Nice scenic drive. In Krabi town there is Vogue Supermarket where you can get your essential munchies, also a cake shop. Across the Vogue Supermarket there is a bakery that sells lovely fresh buns filled with mushrooms and pork, Taro, etc for 20 baht. There is also a Tesco Supermarket along the main road about 10 mins drive.Went to Tiger Cave (Wat Tham Sua) which has a gorgeous view on top. However it is 1237 steps to the top and it's a tough hike up, not so bad coming down. In the same temple next to another entrance with about 180 stairs there is also natural caves and park.Down the road from the hotel there are pad thai food vendor for 50 Baht and turn left on the main road and across the street is a lovely pancake vendor selling banana /egg with chocolate on top for 30 Baht.If you leave very early for the airport you can request for a breakfast box which you need to order the night before.

We stay here for 3 nights. Although this is not beach front hotel, but just within walking distance. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked all our tour and transport thru hotel i.e. airport transfer, motorcycle rental, phi phi island tour, even tour to town. They are offering a very reasonable price to us, the most important thing is - safe. Hotel did not require us to deposit our passport for motorcycle rental, for outside tour counter, must deposit your passport to them. Room are specious, clean & comfortable. They are some food stalls just within walking distance - Pancake, grill chicken etc.

A very pleasant stay. Staff was friendly and helpful & check-in was smooth and fast. I email to them to get me a birthday cake, and they keep wishing u happy birthday & the cake was sent to our rooms right after we check-in. Stay in deluxe pool access room which was great & beautiful... Breakfast is so so and nearby a lot of restaurants... Thumps up

Two months before we arrive, i e-mailed them regarding a birthday cake for the missus as this would be a birthday vacation. They replied "Yup no problem. We know what to do." I was relieved thinking that for sure they do this all the time.So when we returned back to the resort from a day tour, I was expecting the room to be all made up, a cake on the bed, rose petals on the floor, that sorta thing. But there was nothing. Sad. For me, not her. She thought i forgotten her birthday.So I just brushed it off and say that maybe they forgot. After dinner, I went down and asked about the cake. They said that they needed me to be in the room to open the door to deliver the cake. Yipes! So, it turned out quite bad. For me. The birthday celebration 'highlight' that night was toned down. Oh well..Yes, to the review. Ananta Burin was a beautiful place to stay. We were given 3 nights at the 1st floor pool access room, and 1 extended night at the 4th floor. If you ask me, i prefer the one on the 4th floor. The view is great, it's not noisy, pool users won't peep inside your room and you can draw the curtains all the way open. The room on the 1st floor opens up directly to the pooI from the balcony. We didn't quite get the fuss over this. The novelty of a pool access balcony wears off very quickly. You can't walk around naked in your room, you cannot get natural lighting, the curtains were always drawn closed and the hustle and bustle from the pool users makes it quite annoying actually. But then again, it's your own preference.There was the standard knick knacks in the room. A safe, electric kettle, flat screen tv, ample side lamps, pillows aplenty, and towels that could double up as a baby elephant. The bed was according to our liking. Some might say it is too hard. But we slept soundly every night. Maybe the only thing that was bothering me was the sticky floor. Not sure when was the last time they mopped up the place, but it was understandable as it was a beach resort. Every room has a balcony, not to laze around looking at the stars, but rather more to hanging dry your laundry from the beach activities. I love the location of the resort because it is not along the busy main road, but yet quite near enough if you want to go shopping, the beach, some food or some late night entertainment. If you know how to ride a motorcycle, go rent one from the resort itself, or from the many shops just outside, so you can explore further. But first make sure you check the bike thoroughly. Point out any dents, scratches and the fuel level to the person you rent it from. I've heard stories that some shops are quite tricky when it comes to this. They would check the bike with an eagle eye when you return it back. I learnt that the best way around this is to let your lady do most of the talking with lots of smile and cute giggles. Actually this works for most trips I've been to. Sometimes a hint of her skin or a cute tight t-shirt goes a long way. We guys are doomed.I'm not sure whether this is a good tip, but I guess that it was actually better to plan your trip and day tours from a single tour agent. That goes with the motorcycle as well. We got a good bargain with the rental bike, airport transfer and a day tour. And yes, my missus did all the sweet talking to the Thai fella.On our last night, we went for the massage at the resort itself. It was located by the pool and you had to book the package at the reception itself. During the previous days, we went to other massage places along Ao Nang town. I dare say there aren't any places that the massage and service wasn't good. However, I think the best massage was the one at the resort itself. I'm not sure whether it is the exhaustion after 5 days, or just that it was a bit pricey that the ones outside. But good god, they sure define the meaning of Thai Massage.
