Dated but clean
The Edgewater has a fantastic location on the shores of Lake Wanaka, and our one bedroom apartment was very spacious and clean. However, the property is dated and it booked looked, felt and smelt rather old fashioned. I stayed in a much nicer hotel in Queenstown for a fraction of the price, which also provided more amenities such as a free wifi. We were safe here for one night, but I wouldn't re-book.

Magnificent views
The views over the lake from our suite were just breathtaking. The suite was huge with everything you could need - washing/drying/cooking/comfortable bed, lots of space etc. The public lounge is very comfortable - it reminded me of a lovely English estate with the high ceilings and big open fire place.The only negative (and a small one at that) is that the decor of our suite was a little dated, a bit last century. The dark fabric shower curtain made the shower over the bath (with a low ceiling) very claustrophobic. The maroon satin throw + pillow on the bed is very dated. But as I say, small negatives. I would definitely recommend the Edgewater.

I'd pass on the "fine dining"
We've just spent three days in Wanaka at the Edgewater; not an inexpensive deal but cooked breakfast was part of the package...We loved the location, the staff was largely friendly (especially George who was very helpful); the rooms were well appointed but the food was really terrible. Breakfast was part of the package; we thought eating towards the end of the session on our first day might have accounted for just how bad it was and so took our luck at the "fine dining" restaurant. I wouldn't bother people, there is much better dining in town and if we stayed again we would not brave the bainmaries for breakfast. To be fair Edgewater's restaurant had come recommended; perhaps a new/ no chef this weekend???

Very relaxing
I stayed here for a business conference and really enjoyed the experience. The staff was warm and friendly and the resort well located to take advantage of what Wanaka has to offer. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Honeymooners
Superb and BIG Rooms with all amenitites breath taking view of lake and garden is awsome. food is nice very peacefull and clean property. no words. awsome location. full fledge kitchen and all 7 star property.
