You'll need more than one day
We stayed here for four nights with our Travelzoo package. We could not have been more pleased with the accomodations, the setting, and the restaurant. After twisting through Tuscany, we arrived to a friendly staff and a great room. Our room was one of the apartments and had two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and a great balcony. This place exemplifies Tuscan living at its best. The first night, we bought one of the house branded wines (for 6 euros) and enjoyed it on our balcony. That was followed by an amazing dinner at the restaurant on the grounds. They were gracious enough to accomodate a vegetarian palate, but everything we had was top notch. The Sant Ellero train stop is an easy 15 minute car ride down the mountain. From there, Florence is 30 minutes away. There is free parking at the station and getting a ticket is easy.We spent our last night at Usignoli watching the sun set and enjoying (another) bottle of Chinati wine. We made a repeat visit to the restaurant and had another great experience. While there, we met several other travelers who were also raving about the setting and the accomodations.The only downside is that it takes some time to get there from the A1. But the peace and quiet makes the extra effort well worth it. If you get the chance, add it to your itinerary!

Very Charming....Beautiful Views!
We were here with a Groupon and enjoyed it. The views are spectacular and the grounds immaculate. Our room was more like a small apartment with 2 bathrooms, an equipped kitchen and bedroom. We loved the wood shutters...they completely blocked out the light. At night the room was a bit dim, but we were there to sleep and didn't care. The front desk was so helpful getting us to the train station and giving us directions to other places we wanted to see. The Wifi worked not only in the lobby but in our room too! (We were above the office, I guess). We did not eat breakfast here but hey, Italians don't eat big breakfasts like we do in America so I'm not surprised that they didn't have bacon and eggs etc. Part of the experience of traveling to a foreign country is learning about the culture and adapting to their way of life. It is difficult to find...use a GPS or follow the directions left by an earlier reviewer. We didn't take advantage of the pools, horseback riding or any other amenities...we were too busy visiting the sights in Florence and other little villages. Do not miss San Gimignano!!!

Beautiful but with issues!
Stayed here as part of a package deal thru Travel Zoo. Really beautuful grounds and they are well maintained. Angelo and staff friendly. Issues: Handcapped/Difficulty walking ... this place isn't for you! Not handicap friendly and too many steps and inclines. WiFi ... if important to you; is a joke! User/Password required and only available in the lobby. Keeps timing out. They need to hire a new IT tech. Advertised full breakfast but is really just a continental one. Hard boiled eggs and you have to peel. Otherwise just cerals, breads, danishes, meats and fruit. Asked for scrambled eggs but was told not available but tour group came thru one day and gues what? Yeap, scrambled eggs. Air wasn't working in room. Have to ask for additional toilette paper, towels, etc. 4 days here and no room servicing at all. Restaurant okay ... steak and fries were excellent!

They are almost there...
This hotel is almost there. You can tell that they are trying to reach out to tourists, with an excessive amount of activities available. Horseback riding, two pools, tennis, table tennis, three small soccer fields, lots of landscaping, outdoor pizza oven (not in use during our stay in mid-April), and laundry facilities.The grounds are exceptional. The views are spectacular, and they do their best to keep up the rustic charm that tourists are hoping to see. But there are a few problems that keep this place from being recommended. Breakfast is subpar; look elsewhere. The sports equipment is only for children, but no children were staying here at the time. Laundry facilities are pricey, don't have soap, and the dryers don't work or don't heat. Speaking of heat, you'll have to call the front desk to ask them to turn it on. Fine, but it would have been nice to know that, rather than working ourselves up into an irritated state first. The beds didn't help either; I'm sure that the tile floor was softer. You'll be able to hear your neighbors fart (we did). That's how thin the walls are.It's too far from Florence, and Reggello only has services open between 11 and 1, then 7pm-10pm. If you're hungry at 2pm, you're out of luck for five more hours. The hotel itself doesn't have any food or water outside of the 7a-10a breakfast, or the 7p-11p dinner. Fortunately, there is a nice tiny market up the hill that's open from 4:30-7:30 (but not on Wednesdays).I think the management should hire a hotel consultant for a week to fix their easily overcome problems. Until then, I'm staying elsewhere.

Beautiful location, wonderful staff, nice hotel
We stayed here for 4 nights in April and enjoyed it very much. We did have a GPS and had no problem finding the hotel, although it did give us different directions a couple of times. We had a separate little cottage with small dining area and kitchen as well as a small living room with TV and couch and a bedroom and a little balcony area in the back. Lovely views and the peaceful atmosphere were wonderful. The hosts in the reception area were amazing and made our stay even more wonderful. They gave advice on train travel to Florence and timetables and even sold the tickets. Easy drive to train station, about 15 minutes, and a 30 minute train ride to Florence. Also gave great suggestions for driving day trips and what towns to visit. Internet service in reception area. Bring your own soap and toiletries and ask the front desk to turn on heat if needed. We had dinner twice in the restaurant which was very nice.
