Fantastic short break
Reception staff were lovely and inviting. Offered to replenish stock when required, eg. coffee, toilet paper, shampoo etc. which is unusual for apartment style accommodation. No strict rules or threats of fees to be imposed if for example if rubbish is not removed etc. At the last apartment we stayed in at Mission Beach, the information stated that if a child wet the bed then a new bed price would be charged to the occupants. No protective sheeting was provided. We found our stay at Grand Mercure Palm Cove much more relaxing, clean and tidy, and the grounds are astounding. The pool is fabulous! Location is ideal, close to beach and hotel,and walking distance to a zillion restaurants. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable Stay
We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was handy to the whole area. We simply parked the car and walked to dinner and walked the other way for breakfast the next day. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient. The room was very nice and clean.

Great value rooms - everything you need
Great room, very handy to have washing machine and drier and a good kitchenette. Downside was the bathroom was dirty on the floor, shower could've used a better wipe and room was not cleaned once in 4 day stay. That being said it was still great value and the woman on the front desk was relaxed and friendly.

After we checked in at the Silvester Palms up the road we felt that we needed a drink as the tripadvisor description was definitely more flattering than the reality. Walking down the Esplanade we saw a number of nice hotels and decided to simply walk in and see what was available as it is still low season. One look at the swimming pool of the Mercure and our kids (10 and 8) were sold. The receptionist was extremely friendly and gave us a good offer for a 3 days stay that was very similar to what we had to pay at the Silvester. We went for one of their apartments with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a balcony overlooking the pool. Location is great, apartments are good quality and well equipped. All in all a very good experience with Mercure.

Run down and rude
I had stayed here 3 years previously and had a lovely time. Both times I was staying as a private apartment guest. This time I was treated like an unwelcome visitor. The air con quality has gone downhill dramatically, there was one night I was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep. You can only use appliances after 6pm at night. The pool is in disrepair, tiles missing, pavers around the side broken off and not fixed and leaves left for days. However this is nothing, compared to the uniformed and unhelpful staff and the pig manager. Twice I dealt with the manager who happened to be at the desk when I had a question and he was so rude and dismissive, however when a "paying" guest came up, he found the time to be a bit more helpful. He had suggested, aggressively, that in a power-out that I use the elevator to travel back to my room (I had already told him that the elevator didn't work and had I come down the emergency stairs, and the door had locked behind me), however when a male guest came up he then unlocked the emergency door for him.Extremely disappointed and wouldn't go back.
