Royal retreat for active travelers
The hotel is one of the best places we ever stayed. The room was very clean, equipped with modern kitchen, shower and bathtub. There is nice swimming pool and the restaurant on the premises. The staff was extremely nice and friendly and on many occasions went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and memorable. At the front desk miss Jee always greets you with the smile and kindness. She went out of her way to offer her help to drive us for free in a strong rain back to the Ao Nang beach to pay for our massage service because we forgot to take money with us. The words cannot describe our deepest gratitude to her.The Ao Nang beach is about 10-15 min from the hotel. There is a free hotel shuttle that goes there twice a day at 1pm and 5pm. But it did not matter to us because we are not passive beach goers. We spent our days taking different tours in the area. The hotel offers free bike and kayak rentals which is a lot of fun to use to explore this area. The resort's food and the cooking skills of the chef Maya are outstanding. Although the hotel menue offers a lot of great choices my food diet is very strict and limited. All of my foods were cooked off the menue geared towards my own taste and diet. If some food ingridients were not available they were immediately purchased and my meal would be skillfully prepered and timely cooked. Chef Maya as well as other kitchen staff and management deserves our highest gratitude and praise.Before coming to this resort we only expected to have a simple room and a moderate service. Our expectations were surpassed by a very wide margin. The Krabi Tropical Resort is the Royal retreat for active travelers.Let the kindness and the smile of the people from this resort last forever. Let the Universe always brings love and piece to them. We bow our heads to you. Ommmm.

Good Staff, Nice Rooms, Nice Pool
We checked in for 3 nights over the low season and so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was lovely. We originally booked a street-view room but decided to upgrade to a pool-view room and were not disappointed - the view was very pleasant to say the least. The balcony was also a nice touch, we could dry our clothes on the drying rack and relax on the chairs provided. Each room comes with a TV and is equipped with cable access to international channels like BBC, Animal Planet, Discovery, DW and a few local Thai channels. Room was clean and we appreciated the small extra touches like the patterned floor towels and bed runner. The best part about the hotel has got to be the pool, it's cleaned every day and the jacuzzi is lovely. The garden is also maintained very well, even though there are insects on the outdoor tables it is definitely due to the force of nature rather than a lack of upkeep. The pool is right next to the restaurant and breakfast is served made to order every morning from 7am - 11am - one can choose from American / Continental / Local breakfasts and they even do breakfast-to-go if you have an early morning of snorkelling or diving the next day, just let them know the evening before. Breakfast is hearty and served with a platter of fresh fruit at the end. Everything we ordered to eat was good and fresh. Prices were very reasonable. Even though the hotel is not in the middle of Ao Nang ( it is located about 5km from there and it is in a location called Ao Nammao. Most drivers know where it is anyway) we didn't mind it as we wanted to be away from the crowd. The hotel overcomes its lack of location by offering 2 free shuttle buses to Ao Nang every day - one at 1pm and another at 5pm. Outside of these times you can hail Tuk tuks that charge a flat rate of 200 bhat each way. There is a convenience shop directly opposite the hotel where you can buy water / soft drinks and snacks. If you begin to suffer from cabin fever but don't want to trek all the way to Ao Nang for food, there is a outdoor restaurant near Family mart (4 mins walk down the road from the hotel, out the door to the left of the hotel) that has excellent Thai food starting from 40bhat to 70bhat for each dish. We ordered the pad thai, stir fried morning glory, green curry and tom yum soup and were very very satisfied. A lady further down sells banana pancakes if you still have room for dessert. We booked a snorkelling trip through the hotel for 1000 bhat each person and were not disappointed. Staff are always smiling and accommodating. I really can't fault this place, they do try to make your time here as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Highly recommended hotel if you want peace and quiet with great value for money.

Excellent stay
Two of us stayed in Krabi Tropical Beach Resort in September 2010. We really enjoyed our week long stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fresh food, cheap drinks. Quiet location. Would love to go back.

Wonderful family hotel
Our family of five (2 adults, 3 children) plus my parents stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in April 2013. Our family had the ground floor family room with an extra bed. The room was really spacious and very clean. The kitchenette was a little run down but we appreciated the large fridge and didn't use the cooking facilities anyway. My parents were upgraded to a really nice seaview room upstairs. The garden and pool are gorgeous, and there is even a small playground and flying fox for children. We loved sitting outside at the restaurant for our meals, although it pays to ask them to light mosquito coils in the evenings. There is also a small indoor dining room. The food was really good - breakfasts are quite simple, but the lunches and dinners were great with good choices of Thai and Western food. The fruit punches were particularly good and they made beautiful cocktails. They also give you the option of ordering packed breakfasts which works really well if you are taking an early trip. The location is out of the way only if you want to spend a lot of time in Aonang (very touristy) or Krabi Old Town. Perhaps it would have felt isolated had we stayed a lot longer. However it is only 5 minutes walk from a longtail pier where you can book boats to take you to most of the islands. You can also take public buses from outside the hotel to Aonang and Krabi (the Krabi bus goes through Anoang first!). The hotel beach is not a swimming beach,but we spent enough time on beaches with our longtail trips so it wasn't a problem for us. My children loved going down onto the beach and playing on the big tree swing. The staff were really lovely to us, very helpful and accommodating and made us feel very well cared for.

Excellent "home" away from home
The first time I got into the hotel, I was greeted with a family warmth of the staff. The hotel staff will do extramiles to make my stay enjoyable. We have an early morning tour to start, the staff offer us breakfast to go! Incredible! I never have the experience that I can have breakfast to go! They really care for us, packed some fruits and bottled water for us to bring to the tour. The cheese and egg sandwich on the wholewheat toast is really delicious. love it soooo much! The food in the restaurant with the beach view is nice also! Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Krabi soooo much and will definitely recommend Krabi Tropical Beach Resort!
