Grande Mecure Wanaka
We were upgraded and had to carry all our suitcases etc upstairs, the grout in the bathroom was dirty but we were made to feel welcome by the person at reception. (Would chose a cabin in a camping ground over this after our experience of 3 weeks travelling in south island)

Very comfortable with marvellous views
We had been upgraded to a suite which was very welcoming and our room was excellent with plenty of room in the sitting area and a most comfortable bed. Heating was needed as the nights were cold, very efficient without being overpowering. We also had kitchen facilities, all were very clean and new but we did not use them as we were only staying 2 nights and we ate out. All staff that we met were friendly and welcoming and were always ready to chat. The only downside to our visit was the lack of eating facilities at the hotel. We were admittedly staying in the quietest period of the year, very few other guests and as a result of this quiet period the restaurant was closed. Breakfast was available, but the choice and variety (especially the cooked) was not good, somewhat disappointing considering how good the rest of the hotel was. We ate out both nights at local restaurants which were excellent. Considering that facilities at the hotel were lacking/closed, it would be good if this had been advised to us at time of booking especially if this happens each year at this quiet time.

Hot pool paradise / Oakridge
Amazing Stay!!! If you have a family like us its perfect. We have 3 kids under 4 so its busy. We stayed 3 nights in a 2 room Unit. One unit had twin beds and we put the kids in here with portacots. Also had its own bathroom. We stayed in the double room down the hall. Had a fantastic kitchen and lounge as we need to cook to make holidays affordable. TV even had a DVD player insert. So the unit was clean, modern and gave us all our own space. Heaps of room. When we were there it rained for two days but was no drama as we had the hot pools and the warm pool to go between. Its an in built activity that you don't have to keep paying for!!! We used in 3-4 times a day. Wore the kids out. Then at nite we took turns in the spa and sauna. Wanaka is amazing and you will love its cool vibe hands down BUT this place was the Cheery on the top for us. If I was just me and my wife I could see we could have had a lot of fun as well esp under the nite skies in a hot pool. Enjoy

Great place to stay
The booking for this motel was made through a travel agent and we were very happy with their choice.Spent 7 nights at this resort while we where on a skiing holiday. So glad this resort had the hot tub spas as they were really needed.Rooms were clean, serviced daily and very comfortable to stay in. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We ate at the restaurant on the first night and found the food great.Will stay at this resort again when visiting in the future.

Pleasantly surprised!
I booked a room on hotels.com for dirt cheap (I'm talking hostel prices) and must have smiled upon by the hotel gods because I was upgraded to a fabulous 1 bedroom with a full kitchen, huge deck and lovely bathroom. The best part was that there was a washer/dryer in the unit (what!!) so I could clean all my stinky stuff from hiking the Kepler Track. There's a huge grocery store in town so we were able to cook dinner after enjoying the hot pools and the sauna. Only negative is that you can't bring your own drinks into the pool area. Do the Rob Roy hike if you're in Wanaka, it's amazing!
