Nice hotel, not a good base if exploring Florence City flpurely is your main interest
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in May. The hotel itself was clean and we were lucky to get upgraded to a superior room with a four poster bed. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. Bathroom was large with an amazing big shower. The hotel is on the top of the hill with a lovely view. A car is most definately required for a stay here. In rush hour it took us almost 50 minutes to drive from Florence to the hotel but the journey should usually take 30 minutes. The bus from Florence drops you in the nearby town which is a 10-15 minute walk (up a huge hill) to the hotel. A taxi to Florence cost us ¿¿¿23. Therefore this hotel would not be a good choice if one intended on exploring Florence city without a car. We ate in the restaurant one night. Food was slightly expensive but staff were friendly and attentive. Staff at the front desk were also very helpful. The wi-fi didnt work in our room and we had to go to the reception for a connection. There is a computer in reception which guests can use free of charge. The hotel itself was lovely and charming but location needs to be considered in accordance with the guests needs. I would probably not stay here again if visiting Florence purely due to location only.

¿¿harming hotel near Florence
This hotel is located on a hill. The center of Florence (Piazzale Michelangelo) can be reached by car in 10 minutes. The hotel has a very good Italian restaurant, free parking. In the morning a good breakfast (coffee, jam, yogurt). This room has wi-fi internet. From the window of the hotel is a beautiful view of the hills of Tuscany and Florence. Small inconvenience - the road to the hotel from the highway about a kilometer long climbs steeply and her several sharp turns.

Great valley view!
This hotel is located on a hilltop about 20 min from center of Florence. Very quiet romantic location. We were travelling by car and this hotel was very convenient for us. Free parking. We have not tried their restaurant as we ate in the city both days. The room was contemporary furnished and clean. Internet was free. There was no refrigerator in the room, no in-room safe, and no place to store toiletries in the bathroom. Front desk staff was very helpful and polite. Check-in was too early for us - 11 am. Overall, ok for a short 2-night stay.

Highly recommended
Beautiful room with breathtaking view overlooking florence. A simple yet elegant reception area as we were greeted by a friendly front desk staff. The courtyard has a very welcoming feeling as one walks in. It is far from shops etc. You need to have a transport to get here. But it is worth it!!

A great base for visiting Florence
The hotel is located conveniently near Florence, if you are driving, and so could be a great base for visiting the city. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel, but it was worth it. Helpful staff, a beautiful hill top location, an adequate restaurant on the premises. Our rooms, in the main building, were very pleasant, and spotless, with nice showers. My two minor complaints are a very pedestrian breakfast -- e.g., canned fruit -- and spotty wifi availability. Would definitely recommend this for families. We had three under five years of age children with us. The staff were very accommodating and very kind to the children.
