We stayed here recently and I would recommend it as a central place to stay.Nice restaurant and bar, excellent location and good size rooms. On the down side - the restaurant service was poor (I told them I was in a hurry and had to go and it still took AGES for a platter of fruit and some toast... and no there weren't loads in the restaurant), and the furniture in the lobby is tired. For the money? Great.

Could be better
Odd shaped rooms. Shower over the bath which i dont like. Lackadaisical service. But cheap and probably the only place to stay on the North Shore. Outrageously priced Internet. This is a common problem in NZ hotels and needs to be sorted.

Stunning Views
I stayed on the 18th floor which had 225¿¿ of spectacular views from Lake Pupuke south across Auckland city to the Tamaki Strait. Room was excellent with separate bedroom, well-specc'd compact kitchen, dining room and lounge. Despite being able to see everywhere there was a very high level of privacy.

Great 2 night business stay
Been here a few times now and love this hotel. If you want to base yourself on the north shore then there is no other choice. Rooms are good and choice of tv channels and magazines is great. Magazines even in the hallways. Water fountain on arrival. Parking is easy. Great location from the motorway and also the takapuna nightlife. Pool and spa are superb.

Great out of city location
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Spencer on Bryon. The location was close enough to the city whilst maintaining an almost beach resort vibe. Great views of the Harbour and surrounding water. Was lucky enough to be upgraded to a one bedroom suite which felt like an apartment with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge room and balcony. Bonuses were the free wifi and parking, small things but much appreciated.
