Hotel is standard 4 star Novotel. Even though it's not in the city center, location is great since metro station is 50 m from hotel. For example, you can reach Opera station in 20 min.Breakfast is excellent with great variety of choices. There is also a kids corner.Great value for money

I choosed hotel Novotel Charenton because of its ballance between price and great location. I stayed there 3 nights during the trip to Paris with my brother in summer 2012. Location is good - access by undergroung - line 8 (violet) - is easy - the station Libert¿¿ is direct in front of the hotel - really only a few steps. Access by car should be also very easy, because Boulevard P¿¿ripherique is very near. And the hotel has also underground garage.The hotel was for us great starting position for visiting city centre and all wonderful parisien sightseeings as well as for going for shopping. You can get to big shopping centre Ivry - with hypermarket Carrefour - by bus (2 or 3 stations, bus stop around the corner) or walk there - it is not far and it could be nice walk trip across the river Marme. Other shopping centre Bercy 2 is also very near. Small supermarket is situated direct next to hotel. Fast foods and common restaurants are situated in the street.The hotel is large building and is situated in small square. The street was not much noisy. Entrance hall with reception desk has nice design. Receptionists were kind and helpfull as well as all other staff of the hotel. We were accomodated imediately. The hall provides are neccessary services and in addition to it in relaxing atmosphere.The room is standard Novotel. It was relatively large room, perfectly clean. Furniture was new and nice. The room was well equiped - modern flat tv, air-condition with individual set up, wifi and high-speed internet. The bed was comfortable and sleeping was without any problem. They promise 4* level and it is 4* level.The restaurant in the ground floor provides european cuisine and is above average. The breakfasts are excellent - wide choice, great quality. It should be pattern for all 4* hotels. From the restaurant is nice view to the garden in back side of hotel - nice relaxing atmosphere.Only one problem we had was with late check-out on Sunday. It should be free of charge during the weekend. We didn't get this advantage automaticly but we have to ask emphatic.I can recommend this hotel for business stay during the week as well as for stay with family during the weekend. If you don't require stay direct in heart of Paris it should be right hotel for you. Price is great, location not bad, services excellent.

We had a 3 for 2 deal in this hotel and that made the price-quality ratio ok. We did not include breakfast because we did find the rates for the breakfast (compared to other hotels) a bit too much. (Located underneath the hotel you can get fresh croisssoints and bread at a baker.)The room in the hotel was ok, clean and spacious enough if you only sleep there. Facilities to make coffee and tea are present and so is free Wi-Fi.We did not see much of the staff as we did not make use of the breakfast and/or dining facilities, but staff we met was very friendly.The hotel is very close to a metro station (Liberte) and shops where you can get food or drinks are in a mini-mall underneath the hotel and around the corner. It is also very easy to get there from the peripherique by car.On our last day we were woken up at 6:30 by a fire-alarm. Apparently somebody had been smoking in a room. As we stood outside the building with a lot of the other guests, nobody of the hotel staff bothered to come outside and tell us what was happening or when it was safe to get inside. That is why I rate this hotel average, because the staff should be prepared to handle this. However, as a kind of compensation we could get our car free of charge out of the parking. And of course it is good to know that the fire-alarm does work!

Our family are traveling for a year around Europe (housesitting and such) we treated ourselves to 5 nights in Paris to see all of the sites and were happy to arrive at a very clean and comfortable hotel in a nice area of the city. The rooms are serviced daily and the staff are very helpful and accomodating. We have an 11 year old and a 15 year old and found the room spacious enough when we folded up the sofa bed each day. We could buy extra groceries for snacks at the plaza just outside the hotel with a great bakery also located in the centre.We loved Angelo restaurant in the square and ate their two nights on our stay (very friendly staff and reasonably priced delicious food).We would recommend travelers to stay at the Novotel Charenton and catch the metro into the city..it is nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the big city and come back to our neighborhood in Charenton.Room 615

We stayed here 2 nights to visit Paris. Staff is very friendly. Our son got a present right away when we arrived.Room was very spacious and very clean. Had 1 double bed and 1 sofabed. The sofabed was already made up.Separate toilet and nice, clean bathroom with showergel, shampoo and bar of soap. Also a hairdryer and enough towels. Enough storage space (little hallway), a safe and a minibar.The free wifi worked excellent.Our room looked on the square in front of the hotel. On saturdaymorning they decided to clean the square at 7am! Result: horrible noize and al 3 of us wide awake¿¿¿This is the only remark I can make about this room, you can hear the streetnoize very good so ask for a room at the back of the hotel and not one overlooking the square.Breakfast was excellent. Superfresh croissants, mmmm. Lots of choice. They replaced food very quickly. Breakfast staff works very efficient. Only the lay-out of the restaurant wasn¿¿¿t that efficient. Lots of big round tables for 8 persons. Not very cosy with 3 persons to sit at such a big table. Also they had different coffee cups, big ones and small ones. When you have a smal one on your table, you can¿¿¿t choose ¿¿¿caf¿¿ au lait¿¿¿ on the coffeemachine because the cup is too small, you can only take (double) espresso¿¿¿s. (my cup flooded when I tried to take a coffee with milk). The following morning, I took a bigger cup of another table.The location is superb. With the metro only 20 minutes away from the city centre. The station is right next to the hotel. We bought ¿¿¿carnets¿¿¿ with 10 metrotickets.The neighbourhoud feels safe. Underneath the hotel is a little shoppingcentre with a bakery (if you decide not to take breakfast in the hotel) and grocery store. There is also an italian restaurant, a brasserie, a bar and a libanese restaurant very close to the hotel.Good price-quality if you compare it to hotels in the centre of Paris!
