State of origin
I stayed at this Hotel prior to going to the State of Origin and was most impressed with the standard of service and the assistance in organising shuttles to and from the domestic terminal. The rooms were comfortable and the food in the restaurant was very good.

Good Stay

good value
Very comfortable bed, quiet room, nice view of highway and airport at night, streaming light. Good black out curtains, quite air conditioner. Good stay. Only complaint having to repeat pay for shuttle as I wanted to eat out and nowhere within walking distance. 6 dollars per shuttle trip gets expensive. Other than that a top stay with great service

Perfectly adequate
This hotel works perfectly adequately as an airport hotel. Close to the international terminal and rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. It does not have any real character but I suspect most of its guests are not looking for that. I too booked through Wotif and it was very good value. A shuttle service about every 30 minutes to the hotel from both domestic and international terminals which is added to your room bill. Given the length of the taxi queues on this occasion it was a much faster option.Previously I have stayed at the Stamford which is close to the domestic terminal ( walking distance) . The Stamford some has wonderful views - towards the city or down the runway- whereas the Mercure has no real views ( or at least not at my level). If I was paying full-price I would probably choose the Stamford. However on a 'special' Mercure is hard to go past.

DISAPPOINTED
Just returned to Australia by plane after travelling for nine weeks through UK, Europe & UAE. Stayed at over 30 different places of accommodation. This was the only place we had to unload our luggage (2 large suitcases & 3 smaller) from taxi, find trolley for our bags then had to take bags to room ourselves. Never once offered any kind of assistance from any employee - we are in our 60's. Did not bother asking for assistance the following morning. Reservation for this stay was made and paid for in full some months ago and we had stayed there previously so our details are on file, However, still asked to supply imprint of credit card for $50 or cash of $200 for any "incidentals".
