Where Great Service Makes a Difference
I arrived last week from a European trip and stayed in the bay area over the weekend for a meeting. I booked an overnight stay at the Radisson Hotel in Brisbane, CA through Expedia. While checking in, it was brought to my attention by the manager that my reservation was for the following day (I must have gotten confused with the time change between Europe & the US). Fortunately, the hotel was not sold out and so he was kind enough to make the adjustment. He even gave me an upgraded room for being a Club Carlson member!--Great service example #1 (I forgot the manager's name but he is an African American gentleman working on the evening of May 9, 2013). Wifi is free at this hotel. There is a workout room and a swimming pool (the pool was under repair during my stay but they have a special arrangement with the Hilton Homewood Suites next door which allowed guests to use their pool). There is a full service restaurant and bar on the lobby floor of the hotel. I went up to my room on the 8th floor and saw a nice, spacious room with two queen Sleep number beds (these are beds where you can adjust how hard or soft you want the beds to be using a remote device). The sheets were of high thread count and the pillows were made of down and feather. Slippers and cotton bathrobes were provided for guests. Take note that this is an upgraded room on the business class floor so some of these amenities may not be present in the regular rooms but I was impressed that a Radisson airport hotel would have these. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. While I was in Europe, I purchased some inexpensive street art (sketches & paintings) to remind me of the trip and these were wrapped in paper and rolled up into 2 bundles. I placed these on the desk of the hotel room. Unfortunately, I unknowingly left them in the room after checking out and I did not realize this until the following day. I happened to still be in the bay area so I called up the hotel and asked for assistance in retrieving these. The staff made the extra effort to track down these items which they eventually found tossed in the dumpster--Great Service example #2.Although these were not expensive artwork, they carried a sentimental value and I was absolutely delighted to get them back. Kudos to Nena (or Nina) who was the housekeeping supervisor that went out of her was to look for these. Special mention also to the male housekeeping staff that rummaged the garbage dump and found these two rolls or artwork. The Radisson hotel is a decent above average airport hotel and I would have typically given it a score of 3 or 4 out of 5. During this particular stay, it shows how doing a little extra on the part of the staff made a huge difference and that's why I gave them 5/5. Thank you to the Radisson staff!!!

1 Star Hotel with 5 STAR RESTAURANT
Worning!!! Not very friendly Hotel Manager Michael,but very nice Restaurant, very friendly Staff good food, Crab Cake the best, very good Clam Chowder, and nice wine selection.Bravo Xebec Restaurant.

Great place to stay and fly
We have used this airport about 6 times now to fly out of San Francisco. Super convenient. Select comfort beds, so you get plenty of rest, close to the airport, and 14 days of free parking. All the staff we have encountered have been professional, friendly and welcoming.

Overall great stay until checkout
The place was nice and adequate. It was clean and they had comfort select beds which was a nice touch for the weary traveller. Just a tip for the hotel: all the cleanliness and the nice beds are cancelled out by rude checkout personnel. I realize it is 4:30 am but that's when a lot of the flights to the east coast are scheduled. We don't expect a conversation but it is rude in any situation not to at least provide eye contact when asked a question. An entire conversation was had when we inquired about checkout procedures without him lifting his eyes off whatever he was doing. Seriously, I'm sorry that we are putting you out.

Nice clean room, not so great service
I have worked in hotels for years.. so I know what to look for in a hotel. 1 of the shuttle drivers we encountered were pleasant and helpful, the rest, need a new job and did not get a tip from me. Late night service is poor. They need to staff more. 45+ minute wait for check in, placed on hold for at least 10 minutes every time I called after 8 pm, ID was not checked when I asked for a key to my room since ours inactivated. Our room was nice, sleep number beds were very comfortable, view from the 6th floor was beautiful of the bay and mountains (see photo), room was very quiet, and housekeeping was excellent (don't forget to tip every morning! They work hard!)Location is nice on the Bay, however to get downtown you need to rent a car for your stay, or expect at least an hour travel time between the airport shuttle and BART subway system.The pool and hot tub were shut down for remodeling, didn't know this until we arrived, but they comped 1 night for us to make up for it so that was nice. My billing was inaccurate, receipt didn't match what they charged and they overcharged me. However, Michael, the front office manager did a nice job of e-mailing me accurate receipts, answering my questions and ensuring I would be credited for the $100+ overcharge as soon as possible. He is nice to work with. Restaurant in the hotel and room service are of course over priced, however delicious!!
