I could imagine the stars from bygone eras staying here
We stayed here at the beginning of our short US Trip. Picked this hotel as my husband is a diamond Hilton member and we got two free nights. The room was extremely comfortable and had views to Century City, Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills. It was not a new room and I had read some bad reviews but I found it really comfortable and welcoming. The check-in staff were very pleasant and helpful.Being a visitor to the area, not sure what was available close by as far as restaurants etc however, the hotel supplies a car for up to 3 miles which was perfect for my real destination - Westwood Memorial Park. The driver was lovely. None of us knew where the destination was but he was very accommodating and gave us his card so he could pick us up after we had visited. The restaurant and bars at the hotel were good to very good - in particular was the Lobby Bar. Loved the cocktail with chillies and cucumber in it. Was really different. Breakfast as a little lukewarm in the restaurant. Trader Vics has a very good view of the pool area and I really could imagine the stars from the 50s and 60s swanning around the pool area. Great place to have the magical cocktails. It had a special aura about it. The food was tasty too here as we decided we did not want a big meal the first night we arrived from Australia. Only drawback to the hotel was the proximity to other areas as we like to walk but the hotel catered for that nicely with the driver and car. They were more than willing to take us to nearby restaurants if we wished. And it is only a 20 minute cab ride to Hollywood if you really must go there (I was not impressed). In all, we felt welcomed and comfortable in this hotel.

No value for money
For the exorbitant expense, the service was extremely average. Unfortunately our rooms were not ready on arrival and after a 3 hour wait in the foyer they then wanted us to take rooms on separate floors to our children (under 12). Eventually we had to accept a downgraded in our room option (that we had already paid for) to accomodate their error without any compensation or even a complimentary meal. The manager on duty was very abrupt with us and one receptionist continued to be rude not only to us, but another party that joined us later in the week as well. I must say that the lobby bar was great with the bartenders fantastic company and very accommodating. The pool bar downstairs was very expensive and the service terrible. I think for the cost there must be better alternatives in LA.

The stay couldnt of been any better
We ended up staying here because the first hotel we stayed at was not what expected. We did the self parking but definitely work the $38 because the hotel was so nice. We arrived to the hotel and they were having an award party which was nice cause there was celebrities everywhere. Even though we may not have been celebrities they were very hospitable and their customer service was impeccable. The rooms were very clean and up to date. I would definitely suggest this hotel for other and I myself will definitely be staying here on my next visit in LA.

Location, location, location, and swell too!
Since our family relocated from our native L.A. nearly a decade ago, we invariably stay at the Beverly Hilton on visits home, and me for business. It is so well-situated, i.e. practically equidistant to the beaches, hills, Hollywood, LAX and San Fernando Valley. The rooms are light and airy (we always ask for a view room to the Hollywood Hills where we once lived), comfy beds and bedding and thick enough walls for quiet sleep; the staff is like family, from the doormen, reception desk, concierge, and especially the servers and staff in the restaurant. The pool is spectacular and the food is excellent. On our most recent visit over spring break we arrived feeling bedraggled after a long day of travel from the east coast, only to find that it was prom night for Santa Monica High School. My teenage daughter felt self-conscious about checking in amongst the beautiful swans in their prom finery, and we in our travel duds, but the registration clerk could not have made her feel more at ease telling her she's just as lovely as the dressed up young ladies. It is just so reminiscent of the old Beverly Hills that my parents grew up in in the 1950s and 60s, and if you take the time to chat with the valet or concierge staff you will discover that many of them have been with the hotel since that time period and wow do they have some fascinating stories to tell. Finally, the price is very reasonable for the neighborhood and amenities.

The classic Beverly Hills Hotel
this is the place to stay in Beverly Hills. I have been a guest for 3 decades, through 3 renovations, and I still call it Home away from home. I have been checking in in the 90s without knowing it was Golden Globe, a smaller show at that time, and we could sit in the bar and watch the stars go by. I do miss the old Trader Vics. It was a much better place than the small area it is now assigned by the pool.
