A good resting place
Our party of four had the townhouse because of our need for 4 separate beds. The spaciousness of the upstairs and downstairs areas was just what we needed and the cook was in heaven being able to use a large kitchen. The accommodation is close to The Groynes, a delighful series of parks, streams, picnic spots and play areas for dogs and we all went for long walks in the forest environment. The water used at the motel is from a spring. There is a major subdivision being built adjacent to the accommodation which makes the surroundings inside and outside a little dusty while the upstairs bedrooms are subject to traffic noise when windows are left open. The wi-fi reception was weak in the townhouse but was strong in the Reception area.

Rosebank Estate Wedding Guest - Great Venue
The bathroom is in need of urgent upgrade, floor completely floods when showering as shower glass walls dont connect to floor, dont leave clothes on floor when showering... Dual access to rooms good but in need of nice pathways around all units, clear of large planter barrels. Lovely surroundings, road noise, so not quiet if in unit by road. Clean and tidy. Wouldn't stay again. Sorry. The Manager didn't appreciate our patronage....We did offer to vacate all 5 units but this would have been without a refund.

Shabby and noisy
The gardens are lovely but the rooms are poorly maintained with dated decor. It is situated on SH 1 and the traffic noise goes all night. Also not cheap compared to others in Christchurch of a higher standard. The owners were friendly and helpful. This could be and of the nicest motels in Christchurch but it needs work.

Lovely, restful place to stay.
We flew in to Christchurch after a long flight from China, and it was so nice being met by the lodge's transfer service. The Chardonnay is only 8 minutes down the road from the airport and is in a beautiful rural type setting. Right behind the lodge is a winery in which to eat, and then behind that is a lovely, large park - this would be an ideal place to spend time in summer. The lodge has bikes that you are able to use to have a good look around.The units were clean, and spacious, and contained everything we needed. The owners were most helpful with any questions that we had.We would definitely stay here again if we needed accommodation in Christchurch. Situated where it is, is ideal for getting to any destination in Christchurch fairly quickly. The only necessity is that you do need a vehicle - but this is really the situation no matter where you decide to stay in New Zealand.Thanks for a brief, but lovely stay.

Very comfortable
My mum and I stayed here at the beginning, and end, of our NZ holiday in November 2007 (had to select 2011 as dates didn't go back that far). Located not too far from the airport with a lovely winery next door. Very quiet and homely with views of farmland all around. The drive to Christchurch is about 15-20 mins from what I remember. The accomodation was clean and tidy and staff very friendly. Would recommend!
