Very good value for money
We stayed in many motels in New Zealand and this one had one of the best value for money ratios. The motel is clean, quiet, located at a 5-10 minute walk to the centre, has good and long beds, and the staff is very friendly. The location is also suitable for visiting the beautiful Oparara basin, but that will take you about two hours by car.

A bit dated
Checked in okay. Was given local information as requested. The room itself smelt a little of cooked food but the windows were already open to counteract this. For some reason the electric blanket was plugged into the 4 way adaptor so when i turned on the clock radio to set the time, the electric blanket switched on - not what you need in the summer! The room was a little dated compared to other motels I've stayed at recently but it served the purpose.

Not worth it
Over priced for what we got in the room. The room was relatively clean and had kitchenette facilities. However, the main problem was the shower. It was well out of date by all means, and with smelly and very old towels. Good for one night stay.

100% Value for Money!
We stayed in a studio unit here and found it more than catered for our needs, being only a one night stay. However, it would be more than adequate for a much longer stay for us. The cleanliness couldn't be faulted, (I speak as a former housekeeper/supervisor at a large motel complex), there was plenty of room for personal effects, adequate free wireless internet, well equipped kitchen area, plenty of parking, and well kept grounds. Both bed and sofa were comfortable, excellent lighting, and very quiet. The reception staff were very friendly, welcoming, and informative. The only downside was the taste of the water but as we always carry plenty it wasn't an issue for us. Overall we found it excellent value for the tariff and will certainly stay here again when next in Westport.

fine for overnight
room was fine for sleeping in overnight but wouldn't want to stay longer. was clean but is an old building and smelt like old cigarettes. is a bit away from the main area of town. reception was friendly and helpful.
