Good Value
Hanoi Mikes is a budget hotel,but good value for money.My room was clean, comfortable and functional.The staff are very friendly and helpful with good advise on local or distant places of interest to visit.They arranged my tours for me and cared for my valuables while I was away.I was traveling alone,but never lacked for company at Mikes Hotel.The staff made my stay very enjoyable with a friendly approach, plenty of conversation and laughter.

Got Stolen
Hi,I spend 4 nights in the hotel. The last night i got stolen from my cash. I left it in my bag in the hotel from 18-00 to 22-00.Otherwise I had it always and on my sight.Unforntunately i only saw that when i was in airport. I had to leave ealry so i paid the evening before.Only the staff knew I had cash on the bag. And only the staff know i already paid so i would not check again before leaving.

Hanoi Mikes Hotel
The Hanoi Mikes Hotel was incredible value for money. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, a good bathroom (which included a bath as well as a shower and a multi-channel TV. The staff, who were mostly young, were extremely helpful and went to great trouble to arrange tours and make my stay thoroughly enjoyable,

Never stay here!
I have been to MANY budget hotels and I would consider myself pretty easy going. However, I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. We arrived and were waiting in the lobby for our room to be ready and we saw a very large rat run up the stairs to the rooms. All the people at the hotel said was "don't you have rats in Canada?". I can handle some rodents, as I grew up in the country side. But when I saw the room I did not want to stay. They provided us with the "best" room in the hotel, however there weren't any sheets on the bed, only a very light blanket, which was black from other peoples dirt. The towels looked ancient and black. Then we saw cockroaches. We offered to pay one night and receive a refund for the second night we had pre-payed through hotels.com. This was a major problem. They said they needed to charge us the $15 for the first night, and would refund our previous booking of two nights in one month... only after they received their money from hotels.com. We said no. We offered for the hotel to refund us cash and just leave the charge on my credit card, but they said no. When we said that this was unacceptable they didn't offer any sort of compensation. In summary: I have been to many hotels, even low budget hotels in Sri Lanka with geckos and spiders, but I would NEVER recommend anyone to stay at Mikes hotel in Hanoi.

Ok for short stays
Was in Hanoi for 3 nights and stayed here. Nothing special really but ok for the price. AirCon and hot water didn't work (though later will be the case in a lot of places!). Had breakfast twice, again, nothing special. Good location, clean enough, quiet within the hotel. Fine for a short stay, but I would look for something better if you plan to stay longer.
