Beautiful Resort
We stayed at St. Regis Bora Bora in celebration of our 25th wedding anniverary. This was a return trip as we spent five nights at the St. Regis for our 20th anniversary in 2008. Prior to arriving at the St. Regis, we spent four nights at the Le Moana on the island of Bora Bora. I communicated with the St. Regis by e-mail and the Le Moana also communicated with them regarding our arrival and the best way to get to the resort from the Le Moana. The first suggestion was for us to take a taxi to the St. Regis dock on the island and to take the St. Regis boat to the resort. When the LeMoana communicated with the St. Regis, however, the LeMoana suggested that they would drop us off at the St. Regis. We were dropped off at the St. Regis and someone at the dock happened to notice and picked up our luggage. The person pointed up toward the lobby and we walked up there. There was a woman being helped at the counter and we waited about 10 minutes. Another couple arrived after us and waited as well. It appeared that the clerk went behind a door and told others that people were waiting because all of the sudden people poured out of the back room to help. The check-in was not all that smooth as they could not find our reservation. There was no lei greeting and certainly no welcome back or happy anniversary greeting. The St. Regis has everyone fill out a questionnaire as to specifics of your trip and whether you are celebrating a special occasion. I am not sure whey they do this. At any rate, there were no warm fuzzies at the front desk. I can only compare it to our last visit and the wonderful staff at the Intercontinental Le Moana. We were assigned room 325. It is a standard over the water bungalow on the ocean side. The bungalow is beautiful and huge. The butler gave us a tour of the grounds and was very friendly. We enjoyed the Oasis Pool. The first cabana was broken down as the sides didn't move up or down, but we just moved to another as there was no one there. There is no service at the Oasis pool. We also enjoyed the Lagoonarium and swimming in the lagoon right off our deck. The breakfast buffet is excellent and huge. We also had a couples massage which was terrific. The best part of the St. Regis is the Lagoon Restaurant and its wonderful staff. They are the ultimate professionals providing excellent service and a wonderful dining experience. The St. Regis is a beautiful resort. You are at the mercy of the boat schedule, however, if you want to do anyhing at all on the island. Since we stayed on the island for four nights prior to arriving at the St. Regis, this wasn't an issue for us. We did not leave the resort for five days. You should also know that if you are a Starwood Preferred Gold guest, it won't even be mentioned when you check in. It appears as though this resort isn't really interested in Starwood award travel as they charge a minimum 120,000 Starwood points for an award night. It is much more practical to pay cash for the room than use points. We did ask for an upgrade but we were told that the resort was pretty full and that they would give the request to the manager. We never heard from the manager.

Out of this world!!
My husband and I spent our anniversary at the St Regis Bora Bora in April for a week and I really have no idea how to enjoy or want any other vacation! First, our trip was so easy to plan because we booked through Pacific for Less. Claudia and her team were awesome in helping us pick the hotel, specific rooms, restaurant reservations (both in hotel and on the main island) and organizing the sightseeing and activities! In fact, they threw in many perks like a free boat tour with shark feeding, complimentary bottle of champagne and pastries and a couples massage at the spa. Plus, we noticed that the total price was lower than some of the quotes I had received from other agencies and definitely compared to us booking it all on our own.The St.Regis was everything we had read about on the rave reviews and more! We have stayed at many five star resorts but this had the best customer service hands down. Everyone were warm, cheerful and eager to please. We had some confusion with our jet ski tour but the hotel was extremely helpful in sorting it all out even though we did not book it through them - went above and beyond what was expected in this situation. The room we stayed in was a pool beach villa with an awesome view of the over water bungalows, lagoon and was perfect to sip a cocktail watching sunsets over Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu. We had our own beach area, private pool and a hammock so we really didn't venture out much. The villa has a large bedroom, living room, bathroom with double sinks and a private garden shower! There were two TVs in the villa with a DVD player attached to the one in the bedroom. FYI, even though the hotel says that the DVD player only plays European DVDS, it actually played all of our US DVDs - definitely a good idea to bring some along as there is not a whole lot going on after about 9 pm. Also, we found it very useful to bring along a couple of bottles of wine and some liquor since the prices in the hotel are atleast 2-3x the norm! We loved the food especially all of the fresh fish they had. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel and some on the main island so, for a week's stay, we were not bored at all. It is expensive in the resort but, most guests balanced it out by going to the ones on the island now and then.As for the island, we were totally blown away by the sheer natural beauty! Initially, we really debated whether all of that travel was worth just another beach vacation but, once we got there, there was just no comparison! The color of the water and lagoons is absolutely breathtaking. The lagoons have totally calm shallow waters so it is like being in a big swimming pool! We are already planning our trip next year!

Life doesn't get any better than at the St Regis Bora Bora
Oh God.. where do I start? OK, first I must say that before going on my trip, I pretty much read every review on here twice, and I couldn't wait to arrive. I hope my review helps others as other reviews helped me!It took us 33 hours of straight travel to get to the St Regis for our honeymoon on march 26. Obviously, when we arrived, we were pretty much zombies and couldn't wait to get settled in. Glen (an awesome, super cheerful guy) greeted us at the Bora Bora hotel and there was a St Regis boat waiting for us. Glen and a couple other guys said to simply wait at the boat, and our bags would be picked up and put in the boat. Indeed, we didn't even have to worry about the bags. Some paperwork related to our info and our stay was filled out on the boat ride to the hotel, which meant that check in was quicker once we arrived. When you do arrive at the hotel, you are greeted with a cold face towel *heaven* and iced tea. Fortunately, our overwater bungalow was ready and we were able to unwind ASAP. As soon as we did check in, our butler gave us a nice tour of the hotel on a golf cart, told us where everything was, what he recommends doing, and then he took us to our bungalow, where our bags were waiting for us. I'd like to give a special shoutout to our AAAMAZING butler Konstantin. What a great great great guy... he really went above and beyond with everything we asked him. Soooo nice, so willing to help. He made everything we asked for happen, including transfer arrangements, dinner reservations, jet ski reservations, flower bed turndown, canoe breakfast... my God, everything went PERFECTLY, on time, and with no setbacks. On our last day, I pretty much wanted to pack Konstantin and bring him home with us. If you get Konstantin as your butler, you are one lucky person!Ok, so here are some tips and stuff I noticed at the hotel, which I hope are helpful>1. Book a dinner at Villa Mahana. Trust me on this one, one of the top 3 meals of our lifetime in this intimate, delicious french restaurant in Bora Bora. Reservations are needed with time! We had the epicurean meal with wine pairing *ugh, heaven on a plate.. 2. The canoe breakfast is really a unique experience.. they bring you> coffee, juice, bread, and fruit. No eggs, which was a bummer, especially for the price! but, once again, you are paying for the experience of getting your breakfast brought over on a canoe and you get to ride around in it for a while while they set up the table on your deck.3. We already knew before arriving that tipping was not expected in Bora Bora because employees get paid very well and don't depend on tips to survive, like in the US. Also, they include a small percentage in every St Regis bill as tip (5% if I remember correctly). You don't have to tip more, unless there was an exceptional service provided (for example, your butler perhaps) and you really feel like giving something more. However, a nice gift brought from your home country to your butler also counts as a nice gesture. 4. We recommend the following activities> Aqua Safari, Shark and Ray feeding, and the 4x4 Safari so you can get a glimpse of how the main island looks like and how the locals live, very interesting. All are third party activities that the hotel can help book or your travel agent. My favorite was the Aqua Safari.5. Bring an adapter (or 2) so you can plug your stuff!6. Breakfast buffet was yum yuuuuuum, get it included in your package if you can.7. Spa is gorgeous, have a massage if you can! Not cheap at all, splurge if you can. 8. Snorkel at the Lagoonarium, which is the water/lagoon that surrounds the spa. There are plenty of gorgeous fish to observe!9. If you go to Bora Bora, you MUST buy a waterproof camera. Trust me on this one, you will treasure all of the pics you will take with it. We got an Olympus tough and it was pretty much the best thing we bought for Bora Bora. I never left my room without it. Also, I recommend getting an X-Shot *a monopod* in order to take pics o

perfect anniversary
My husband and I treated ourselves to a trip to the St Regis BB for our 20 year anniversary in March 2013. From all of the previous reviews that I'd read, I felt like I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel so I'll just stick to our observations as I'm sure you are scoping this out to compare and choose the perfect hotel for your next vacation (or you are just up late, bored and killing time checking out far off places you hope to visit one day). Notes made from our vacation-after 29 hours of travel and only 2 hours of sleep, the cold tea they serve on arrival is like GOLD-breakfast buffet is ample and tasty and the homemade Tahitian vanilla yogurt is the best-we had a room out in the 300's (maybe 307??) and were disappointed when we arrived as it didn't face the mountain. We were exhausted and decided to wait until morning to see if we could change rooms. So glad that we waited as the breeze blowing out of the East proved to be a life saver. It's hot in the South Pacific and that breeze will save you!! -personally feel that the sunsets are overrated. I think the people that go on and on about the sunset over the mountain are simply not awake for the magnificent sunrises!!! Get up early, walk to the ocean side of the property and watch the sunrise from the helipad or if you are lucky enough to have a room that faces East, just step out onto your amazing deck and watch it in peace as you sip your morning coffee. This was our favorite part of the day! -being fair skinned Minnesotans, we spent the middle of the mid-day seeking a bit of shade. This is where the fabulous decks come in. We dragged our table and chairs out of the covered area on the deck and slid the lounge chairs in. Perfect way to relax, read books, stare at the water and really just stay quite comfortable between jumps off of the platform. We saw a lot of sunburned people who simply looked miserable in paradise... sad. Bring your sunscreen.-go into town early in your trip. Meet people, shop for pearls, go to the market and buy some supplies. -you can buy water, juice, snacks, necessities etc at the little shop at the resort if needed. They are pricier than you would find them at home but far less expensive than ordering from room service or at a restaurant. -take the advice of the others here, bring your own alcohol if that's your thing. Easy to do and saves a bundle.-the cabana pool is stunning. If you want to hang by a pool instead of the beach or your own deck, it's the place to go.-food.... a subject that will encourage great discussion and disagreement so I will just give you our humble opinion. The food is very good. Not top 10 in our lifetime but really people, the food is good. We've had trips in the past where everything else was perfect and the food just sucked. Didn't ruin the trip but just left that little something to be desired. A trip to the island for dinner (at least once) is a great idea too. -our room was way out near the end of the dock so our walk in to the main part of the resort was as far out as you are going to get. It only took us 10 minutes to walk in for breakfast every morning. If that sounds like too much walking for you, you can call a butler and have a golf cart pick you up. The bikes will speed things up and are surprisingly fun to ride. -chartered a 20+ ft cat for a few hours to tour the lagoon. Super fun and highly recommend if it sounds like your thing. You will see Olivier buzzing around in the cat with the red sails. You can set up an excursion at the concierge desk. I think it ran about $350 for 2.5-3 hours?? The St Regis is a great choice for a place to stay in BB. We had the chance to see a lot of other resorts while cruising the lagoon. The decks here (and the four seasons) are far larger than the others. I honestly think that any hotel here would be great but we really loved our bungalow and couldn't be happier with our choice.
