An exquisite and modern boutique Hotel
We stayed there for half a month last year, but forgot to review it here! Location: Quiet but located conveniently close to China Town. Just 7-10 mins walk to MRT stations.Hotel Decor: Nice, rebuilt from an antique merchant buildings. Interior: modern and tasteful.Room: Small, but well-equipped with good washroom and separate shower cubicle.Facilities: There is a very very small jaccui and gym. Ok, but not many ppl used it. Service: Impeccable, friendly and helpful!

Intimate, simple decadence, an oasis in Singapore
I discovered Scarlet on a business trip 3 years ago. I have then stayed here 2-3 more times, on both business and personal holidays and continue to love its coziness, red and black plush surrounds, warm and personal (not the robotic service one tends to get in Asia) staff, little touches like a shower area for those who have checked out and want to freshen up before a late flight and lovely rooftop bar. A plus is its location in Chinatown especially the hawker centre being right across the road, making a sneaky run for chicken rice a naughty albeit contradictory experience from the hotel's poshy ambience.I agree the rooms can be small and bit pricey but I would rather pay the premium for the luxury and privacy. They are renovating soon too so I expect a fresher take on seductive luxury in the future.

Great location with stylish rooms
I've stayed at this hotel almost everytime I've visited Singapore. This is one of my all time favorite boutique hotels. It's location is convenient to great restaurants, hawker centres, and walking distance to the MTR. The rooms are small and usually with no windows but the cleanliness and chic style makes up for it. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I look forward to staying here each time I visit Singapore, especially after a long international flight.

Decent boutique hotel in the heart of Chinatown
It was a decent 2 night stay at Scarlet Hotel. Everything was fine, from the room, service at the reception, and the location. Its a very boutique hotel, so everything was a bit different from standard hotel. What I like about this hotel is the attentiveness of the staff (easy to get service), and close proximity to food places (Maxwell hawker centre just next door), many good restaurants and bars along ann siang hill, club street and neil rd, and meanwhile still feel a bit tucked away. The only thing I would like to say negative about this hotel is the room itself, not sure if i really mind it or not (its just unusual for me) was the lack of window in the room. The window was obscure on the ceiling. In the morning it was bright already and theres blinds/curtain to close it as it was high up in the ceiling.

Our number one choice of hotels in Singapore
My hubby and I stayed at the Scarlet for a week in April and will definitely be booking here on our next trip to Singapore. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is in Chinatown and just a stones throw from the fantastic Maxwell hawkers food market where you can find a range of local and neighbouring country dishes (our favourite was the chicken rice from Tian Tian Hiananese) and also backs on to Club Street which has great late night wine bars, fantastic Italian and French restaurants and a sophisticated night life. The Scarlet is also close to so many great sightseeing destinations and no matter where we went, it never seemed to cost more than SGD 10. We also did a half day bicycle tour with Lets Go Bike Tour (well worth doing!) which, again, was located just a few minutes away from the hotel. There are also some fabulous boutique clothing shops just a few doors down and Antoinette's- a French bakery offering a big range of beautiful pastries and cakes and open until late.The hotel itself offered fabulous service, including daily room servicing and a turndown service in the evenings. The rooms were quiet, decorated with a touch of class and very comfy beds.The rooftop spa was also a great additionand, not once, did we see other guests up there.We booked our room through Agoda and got a great deal, it was much better value than the five star larger hotels which, for three times the price, could not have possibly offered the same level of personable service.We didn't eat at the restaurant as it was quite expensive in contrast to all the great food spots nearby but had a few glasses of wine there during our week and enjoyed the atmosphere and attentive service.We will definitely be booking into the Scarlet on our next visit.
