Uncaring management and front of house staff
Having had a great holiday with my small family of self and children the previous year on Fiji's Coral Coast we were really looking forward to our stay on this island but we were very disappointed and it's put us off Fiji as a holiday destination. The website seemed to say we could get there on the day we arrived in Fiji, but that's only if money is no object to you (that part wasn't mentioned). We arrived at the airport in the early afternoon only to find the last regular boat to the island had already left....and we could charter a launch if we wanted but at huge expense. That left us in the situation of having to organise a night on the mainland at short notice and the same (due to the same problem of boat and plane timetables not exactly dovetailing) for the way back. At the hotel where we over-nighted we met a young couple who'd just had their wedding on the island and were expressing disappointed about the way that had been handled by the resort staff, with several of their guests not attending from being told there was no accommodation for them, when in fact there were plenty of rooms available. When we eventually got to "Treasure" and tried to discuss our issue, the extremely unfriendly front desk staff showed no concern whatever. I eventually got hold of the manager who breezily said "Oh yes, that happens to a lot of visitors who book over the internet and through online agents." He also admitted their own website was less than clear on what arrangements to make about flight times, mainland accommodation etc. and needed review. Somewhat flabbergasted about the casual attitude towards this, I nevertheless anticipated a refund of at the least the last night's accommodation I'd had cancel, but that never eventuated. The whole incident certainly put a cast over our holiday. Considering this is largely a resort for families, knowingly leaving families at risk of turning up in a foreign country to find they can't get to their booked accommodation seems pretty appalling to me. The very ordinary menu offerings in the restaurant didn't help. If you do decide to stay, stick with the flambe restaurant which does offer good dining, albeit shut away from other diners. There's also not a lot to do if it rains (which it may, being tropical) as water-based activities will be cancelled. High praise for the kids club staff, however, who were lovely with the children.

Treasure Island was such a fantastic Fijian experience. There are fancier resorts in Fiji for sure but Treasure Island was exactly what we were looking for, with beachfront bungalows overlooking the sea on this beautiful Island. The food, the people, the entertainment, all fantastic! Check out my video link to see why we love Treasure Island so much.Copy this link into You Tube http://youtu.be/Zd24Frt6erA

Great location, poor accommodation
I got married on Treasure Island late last year. The island itself is incredibly beautiful. The water is like like crystal and reflects the lovely blue sky. There are plenty of palm trees and nice hammocks that you can rest in. The pool, while not huge, is one of the best I've ever seen. Also, being a tiny island in the middle of the ocean, there aren't any bugs or dangerous things. The service and accommodation are where this place ranks poorly. Some of the staff seem happy and go out of their way to make your stay more enjoyable. On the other hand, there are some that are clearly unhappy to be there. Some are also quite rude and disrepectful. There are no proper windows on the burees, only shutters, and we heard one of the staff members listening to us on the night of our wedding!!! The guy who drove the jet boat also got us completely saturated on the way over from the mainland. I found it sort of funny, but they should ask before they purposely crash you into waves and get you covered from head to to in salt water. The rooms are also quite old. Some have been renovated, but it's still sub-standard by Western standards. Note that they don't advertise themselves as a 4 or 5 star hotel, but they certainly charge like one.Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the food. It, too, was expensive. It always arrived late and cold. It got the point that I had to ask for my food to be delivered hot upon ordering. You shouldn't have to do that! There is nowhere else to eat, so you're stuck with what they offer. It made me so angry. Also, the beach, while beautiful, is full of sharp coral. It's not a big problem, but where thongs at all times and I sliced my foot open on the second day.If you're on a budget and haven't been to Fiji before, I'd say stick with this place for its natural beauty. If you're after the Hilton Hotel experience, you should go somewhere else.

Wonderful Experience
Fantastic Island getaway, the people who staff Treasure Island remember you name and give great customer service. The pool is so enchanting you can spend all day in and around it with a view that is picture perfect. Bure's are comfortable, large, stylish, close to the beach and it's another world to wake in. Peaceful with magnificent beach for swimming and water activities. The snorkelling and reef fishing a must here. The food is good, we suggest full board, the Kokonda delicious. We loved Treasure Island and hope to return soon.

Old and rundown!
dont go there to stay! you pay top dollar for a resort build in the 70s! the rooms are crap, and food & service is not up the scratch. The pool and decking area is horrible. Watch out for splinters!!! Sure your on a beautiful island surrounded by beautifull blue water but if your keen to visit, just do a day trip of island hopping. We hated our stay and forfeted 2 nights accomodation to get back to the main land.
