Five star hotel with one star food
The Hilton Bora Bora is a five star hotel with one star food.¿¿It is nice for every employee to greet you in their native tongue with a smile.¿¿The views are incredible and the accommodations are nothing short of amazing.¿¿The spa provides unbelievable service and quality staff through and through.¿¿The problem is the food and the service provided while in the restaurants. This is not to say that the staff is not friendly, because they are nice and clearly have good intentions.¿¿The quality of service is either due to a lack of quality management or training of employees. Like I said the intention of the staff at the restaurants are clearly good, but they are just really slow. It is almost like they don't know how to serve efficiently. When you are paying 25-100 dollars a person you expect your order brought out promptly. The following are some personal experiences that lead to my forming of this opinion.1. The computers to ring up orders were down for two straight days2. The blenders didn't work at the bar by the main pool (the only bar open during the day), at any time during my stay. This lead to pi¿¿a coladas on the rocks, which are not nearly as tasty.¿¿3. I had to seek out a waitress or waiter at almost every meal to receive service of some type, including, but not limited to, getting a check, a drink or simply a menu.4. One night I watched every single guest in the restaurant, including my wife and myself, have to walk to the hostess table to receive their dinner receipt. After asking that waitress three times for our receipt, she would point to the hostess or just go stand next to her and do nothing, only to return to our table and point at the hostess and say "she will take care of it." meanwhile the hostess has a line of people who were waiting to get a check from her because none of the servers brought them their checks. This is a five star hotel, not a late night diner, the checks should be brought to the table.5. One night I asked for an orange juice when we first ordered appetizers, again when we finished appetizers, and again when our food was served. ¿¿I NEVER RECEIVED THE ORANGE JUICE!6.¿¿On the¿¿Friday Night¿¿buffet dinner, we asked for wine and water three separate times before we received either. This took about 45 minutes cumulatively. Also, the quality of the food not only makes it overpriced but in the words of my wife "it is worse than all-inclusive food."1.¿¿The lunch is $25-$35 a person and the food is not very good. My swordfish sandwich tasted fishy and my wife's pasta tasted like nothing, which is even funnier considering it is call the seasoned veggie pasta.¿¿2. Dinner was the worst of all. There is some decent food to be had, but it is a minimum of $30 and you receive a kids portion of pasta or risotto. The buffet night was the biggest scam. You have this huge buffet with 20 different foods and desserts, but only 1 to 2 foods provided are decent. On top of that they charge you $100 per person for the buffet. By the way, the night of the buffet there are no other options for dinner other than going to town.¿¿Overall unless I am reassured that some changes in training, management or chefs are made I would not come back to this hotel. Food is a very important part of your stay and the service associated with it reflects on the quality. It doesn't seem like a tough fix. It seems like the staff have the desire to please, but just don't know how to properly. I am no expert in hospitality, but when I am paying over $800 a night I do expect a bit more.¿¿Once again, everything outside of food quality and service was outstanding, but at least for me those two things were bad enough for me not to recommend this hotel to anyone.¿¿

Terrible Customer Service, not worth the money!
You would think that having such amazing property and a solid name, the Hilton would be able to come through with an out of this world experience. This was definitely a flop and the Hilton better do something about their customer service because the property itself is aging and after a while, it is not going to have much to write home about. My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui for our honeymoon and were sadly very disappointed. While the island itself is breathtaking, the service alone was enough to ruin our 6-days at the property. We had heard so many good things about Bora Bora and were deeply frustrated when the bad outweighed the good. We thought the attitude and lack of service may have been the culture, but we soon found out after speaking with other couples, that it was just the staff at the Hilton. Everywhere we went, the restaurant, the bar, the concierge desk, we were not greeted with a friendly smile, but instead ignored and the unfriendly host would not even make eye contact. After planning this 'dream vacation' for many months and shelling out a fortune, we could not even get a frozen beverage during our entire stay, because all of the blenders at the resort were broke. When we asked the bartender when it would be fixed, we were told that it would take 5 months to get a new one. Are you kidding me, Hilton??We decided to go with the Hilton because they offered the meal plan (we had all meals included in our package). In hindsight, we would have been much happier choosing a better resort that only included 1 or 2 meals but ranked higher in customer service. The only outstanding part of our Hilton Bora Bora experience was the massage we received at the Spa. Our Best Man and Maid of Honor had gifted us the Time for Two massage which takes place in a hut overlooking the resort. This was amazing as when we had finished, we caught the most beautiful sunset. Anywhere you stay, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and all the island has to offer. Our advise to you is to choose a hotel that is reputable for the service. IE The Four Seasons. They know your name and will go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. You get what you pay for and unfortunately for what we paid at the Hilton, the service we received was unacceptable.

Welcome to Paradise
If you are ever able to get here you will never want to leave. My husband and I stayed here for a week on our honeymoon. We have not stopped raving about our time in Bora Bora and the Hilton offers a wonderful experience for their guests with friendly staff, an endless list of amenities, and options for activities. It is certainly expensive but what do you expect for a slice of paradise? I would recommend going into town to purchase snacks and drinks in order to save a little bit of money...this will also give you the chance to spend more time away from the main bar/restaurants and in your bungalow. We stayed in both an on-land cabin as well as an over-water bungalow. Both were amazing. The rooms are gorgeous and the views are, of course, even better. One cannot explain the feeling of waking up to an ocean breeze and having nothing to do but jump out the door into crystal clear water. Mauruuru Bora Bora!

Absolute Paradise!
My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui for 8 days and 7 nights for our honeymoon. It was pretty close to perfect. We opted for the hotel's direct shuttle transfer from the airport, which was a beautiful ride and very convenient. We got to the hotel at 9am (after 14 hours of red-eye travel), way before check-in at 2pm. We were welcomed with a refreshing, scented, moist cloth and shot of juice. I know some have complained about difficulties with waiting for rooms to be ready, but this is how we handled it: We grabbed our swimsuits and beach essentials from where they were keeping our luggage for the day, and changed in the private restrooms (and later found out that they actually have rooms available for showering and changing, which we utilized on our last day after check out before our red eye flight out, you just have to ask). Then we headed to the pool, Temure Grill for lunch, and finally the hammock on the beach. Before we knew it, it was time for check in. The rest of the stay was nothing short of amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating (and seem to work consistent shifts so you really get to know them). All three restaurants were great. The breakfast buffet at Temure Grill was arguably my favorite part of each day mostly due to the exotic fruits, sand between my toes, and ocean view; and the rest of the buffet (delicious pastries, plenty of protein options, American favorites, and traditional Polynesian dishes) was also great. The two other restaurants (Upa Upa and Iriati) were also great, but I'm not sure the Friday night buffet at Iriati was worth the price (however, it was truly delicious). The Tuesday night party at Temure is a must-do, very fun, and I recommend concentrating on the "starters" room, that's where the best food was. Another thing that was great about the Hilton is that it is on a Fennui, which is different from a motu in that it is formed from volcanic rock (yet still has white sand beaches) so it has its own little mountain, which was beautiful. The flat motu's seemed a little plainer by comparison. However, if you want a view of the taller Mt. Otemanu and the sunrise in addition to the endless ocean, you'll want to stay in rooms 101-107 or nearby. We stayed in room 114 (regular overwater bungalow), and were a short swim away from what I think is the most beautiful spot on Earth- view of Mt. Otemanu on one side, and endless ocean past the breaking waves of the reef on the other, with lush motu scenery around as well. Our room was huge which gave us plenty of room to keep tidy and spread out and relax when we needed to get out of the strong sun. We also had an opportunity to enjoy other amenities at the resort including the spa and water sports. The hot stone massage was great, and the view from the spa on the top of the mountain was breathtaking. There was never any shortage of water sport equipment, and I was able to get a kayak or paddle board whenever I wanted. There is also a hobby cat, that you can go out on with a guide. We were able to keep snorkel gear provided by the resort in our suite all week, and snorkeled almost every day. Fish came by our bungalow regularly, at least every five minutes. Rays swam by our place on two occasions, and a black tipped reef shark once (they do not harm humans unprevoked), which was really cool. I scraped my foot on coral once, and the handsome eco-educator/beach boy cleaned it right up. The great thing about this resort is that there is no reason to leave with all of the food and activity options, but we did go to the main island a few times which just took a really short, fun boat shuttle. We had a wonderful time at this resort. One thing to brace yourself for about Bora Bora in general is that service is relatively slow, but being as that the ambiance/food is wonderful everywhere you go, I really don't know what the rush would be. If anything was not how we wanted it at any time at the Hilton, all we had to do was ask and our requests
