Grange City Hotel, Tower Hill
Top class hotel! Service was excellent, and although we weren't asking for assistance the staff could not do enough to help us.Located right beside Tower Hill tube station and only a few minutes from Liverpool St Station, this hotel was in a great spot. The added bonus was the tour bus (big red bus!) stops just around the corner.Thanks, I'll certainly stay with the Grange group again when in London.

Complimentary upgrade to a room with panoramic view
Booked a night at Grand City via an agency at a fantastic rate. When checked in, hotel reception very kindly offered a complimentary upgrade to a very spacious executive room with the wonderful view of the Tower of London. Free Wi-Fi was available also. A variety of items on the room service menu but it was the service made the room service outstanding - the room service department even did a follow-up phone call to make sure everything was ok.Plenty of options for breakfast, and service was again very good. The hotel is technically next to the Tower Hill tube station and no more than three minutes away from the DLR or five minutes from the Tower of London. The relatively classical d¿¿cor might not be everybody's cup of tea but it seemed clean, neat, tidy and very practical everywhere. It was a wonderful stay; thanks so much!

Exceptional value on a lastminute.com secret deal
My fianc¿¿e and I stayed at The Grange City after booking for a last minute deal for a Friday night in central London, this particular deal was with lastminute.com on there secret location deal for ¿¿99 per double room. ..... And we were given the Grange City. Amazing value for what we paid. I have stayed in The Grange Holborn and so knowing the chain I wasn't too concerned prior to arrival and my concerns were correct. A fabulous stay in a great location. On arrival the grandure of the reception was eye catching and the service was excellent. The reception was courtesy polite and then upgraded us to a higher standard of room due to it was a smoking room available with restricted views on the seventh floor looking of the Tower of London, the River and over towards the South bank with the Shard as a backdrop. Phenomenal experience. (Room 708 ). A very large spacious room with two queen size beds sofas etc. Great. The room was very clean and room service was good also. The location of the hotel is great,away from the tourist area of Westminster and more of the London City Friday night buzz of bankers in bars and pubs relaxing. Great pubs and bars around the area heading towards Leadenhall Market and Bishop Gate areas. Away from the tourist areas of the river, a true feel on London starting the weekend and relaxing. A great buzz. Overall the hotel ambience location and professional appearance was a delight and surprise for the value of the price deals on offer from this hotel chain. Highly recommended and will certainly return . A++++. Enjoy and give it a go.Danny783

Excellent hotel
My husband and I stayed here for a night to see The bodyguard at the Adelphi theatre. The hotel is definitely 5 star providing excellent service. We couldn't fault a thing about the stay. We were upgraded for free to a suite with views of tower bridge and Tower of London on the eighth floor which was amazing. The room was huge, incredibly comfortable and clean. The bathroom was small but immaculate. We were given a complimentary fruit basket shortly after arrival which was a lovely gesture. The hotel was very quiet at night so we slept amazingly. The restaurant for breakfast was very efficient and well laid out. The food was beautifully fresh and the service was impeccable. We certainly didnt see what other reviews were complaining about. All the guests seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their stay in peaceful surroundings. We didnt see any children during our stay and are not sure we would bring out two little ones as it seems more adult orientated and quiet which was a lovely treat. The swimming pool and facilities were very well presented and enjoyable. In would highly recommend this hotel to couples looking for a top quality hotel in a very easy to reach location to central London. We will most certainly return here again above all othe hotels we have stayed in around London.

Four Star in my opinion
I booked the hotel through the secret hotels on lastminute.com and got the room at a reduced rate, but by doing this I took a gamble on the hotel and location. The room was OK but in my opinion not 5* quality.The room was generally clean, but the furniture looked like it had seen better days. The shower was a bit dirty which doesn't bother me but not what you¿¿¿d expect in a 5* hotel. The room overlooked the platform of Fenchurch St train station and on both nights I stayed there was a very loud low frequency noise which I presume came from a nearby nightclub If by getting a discounted rate you are given a substandard room then it doesn¿¿¿t seem much of a bargain? If this is what happened then I¿¿¿d have no issue provided this was made clear when booking. If I am incorrect in my assumption and all the rooms are of this standard then I question the 5* rating
