Great service and friendly staff
It was the perfect setting for us. Our family and relatives from U.S., Australia, Tonga and Wellington congregated at the lodge for a niece's wedding. We rented 7 rooms. From front desk staff to housekeepers, they were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We liked the ground-level rooms with easy access to parking and room for kids to play in a safe environment. The breakfast was awesome and so much food. We would stay here anytime we go back to New Zealand!L. Moore, Montana, USA

Problems for families
We booked the motel through expedia for 2 adults and a child. paid the supplement for the 3rd person to expedia.Arrived at the motel on Dec 17, 2012 at 11:15 pm and found out that the motel reserved a room with one double bed only. The management did not want to acknowledge that we had booked a room and paid for a third person. We were given the choice of paying NZ$50 for extra person or have one of us sleep on the floor.We agreed to pay the NZ$50 to be able to get some sleep that night.Next day we accessed the internet and brought on our tablet the proof we had paid expedia the extra person. The motel asked us to fill in a refund form and told us it may take up to 3 months to get a refund. Funny how easy they can overcharge, but cannot refund your money that easily...We are now almost 6 months after the check-in date and still no refund. Both expedia and the motel do not take responsibility of solving this.If you are a family and think about booking this place through expedia, think again. Seems the communication is broken and you may have the same surprise we encountered. In addition, the management is not honest to refund any money overcharged.Better find another place.

Great Value for Money
I choose to stay at Oakwood Manor for the convenience of the free shuttle to and from the airport on my recent international trip. What a great find and incredible value for money. The studio they showed me to, had been recently refurbished with a lovely tiled bathroom. Very comfortable bed and sparkling clean. It was so easy to have my dinner & then breakfast the next morning at the restaurant onsite. Once again, I was very satisfied, great food and good menu selection. What a gem of a place. I would definitely recommend Oakwood Manor to my friends and family and will be back again in the future.

An awesome find
My husband and I were in Auckland on Business and chose to stay at Oakwood Manor. This was our first visit and what a lovely suprise it was. We were shown to one of the newly refurnished rooms which was just lovely. A very comfy bed,lovely decor and spotlessly clean.We found our hosts to be very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served fantastic food. (thank you chef). We will definitely be staying here again and telling our friends as well.
