Outstanding property, great staff, great price
The Cypress is a great place to stay in the Silicon Valley. The location is easily accessible from most Silicon Valley locations, and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. The hotel has been newly renovated (though I'm not sure it really needed it--I stayed here a couple of years ago and it seemed fine then too), and it's a nice property, though not as memorable, unique, or cutting-edge as most Kimpton properties seem to be.The staff is extemely professional and accomodating--they would be excellent even by the standards of a hotel that several times as much as what we paid. There are lots of amenities and comforts provided as well--free wine and appetizers in the lobby lounge during the early evening (I was there on a weekend--I don't know if that applies during the week as well), free coffee in the morning, free wi-fi use (for Kimpton In-Touch members), and to celebrate the completion of renovations, they even gave us a free bottle of sparkling wine in our room. There is an attached parking garage with free guest parking. At to top it off, the rate was terrific--we got a special promotional rate (again, in celebration of the completion of renovations) of around $100--a real bargain.We traveled with our dog, and like all Kimpton hotels, pets are welcome (and made to FEEL welcome) at no additional cost and with no deposits, cleaning fees, etc. Accordingly, there were a number of people with pets staying there, but there was no barking or other noises that could be heard.The room itself was comfortable and very clean, though not particularly exciting, especially as compared to most other Kimpton properties. The decor/fixtures/etc. were not noteworthy, though the room was a decent enough size, was quiet, and the bedding, electronics, plumbing, HVAC, and other items were modern and well-maintained. It would've been nice for there to have been a small refrigerator available for guest use, but there was only the mini-bar fridge (which required one to break a seal to open the door, so we didn't bother with it). There is no coffee maker in the room (though free coffee is served downstairs in the morning), nor is there a microwave or other in-room food facilities.All in all, a very nice place at a great value--enough so that I've already booked a room there for my next trip to the area in a couple of weeks.I didn't get a chance to use or check out the pool, spa, workout facilities, etc., but when I come back in a couple of weeks, and hopefully will have the the chance to do so then.

Great, detail oriented hotel
I was here for a work conference, so I cannot comment on the price value, because I do not know how much was paid. The rooms were modern and up to date. Housekeeping was excellent and thoughtful, lining my shoes up each day. The food at the conference was excellent. Please see my review for the Park Place Restaurant inside the hotel. The complimentary wine hour was a great place to relax after working all day. The only improvement I could suggest was better lighting in the workout facility, but great equipment. Complimentary hotel shuttle to San Jose Airport. Great stay at the Cypress.

Excellent stay
We arrived early in the afternoon after a long drive. Both my husband and I had been sick and the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating. This was the last of 8 nights staying in various facilities while traveling through Northern California and the Cypress was by far one of the nicest places we stayed. The room was very nice, everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The bed however, was a bit too firm for our tastes. We did find it difficult to find our way into the hotel passing it twice from the street before finding our way in.

Great staff, but slow internet
Positive: Wonderful staff at this hotel. Friendly, professional, and willing to go the extra mile to help make your stay more comfortable. Convenient location near both major bay area freeways between San Francisco and San Jose (~45 minute drive from SFO).Neutral: The decor is nice, but not as "boutique" as many other Kimptons. In many ways felt like a nice Hyatt or Marriott.Negative: Very slow internet on the evening I stayed, which is ironic given the hotel's location in Silicon Valley. Connection was better the next morning, so I think it was just temporarily overloaded.Overall, I'd happily stay again, mostly because of the staff and location. If possible, I'd encourage them to invest in improving the wifi internet.

Comfortable Hotel
We have returned to this hotel several times, because it is so nice. The rooms, which appear to have been recently remodeled, have a fun, funky d¿¿cor. The bed is very comfortable. It is a very quiet hotel (good sound insulation), which is key when you are traveling with little ones, The hotel staff was very nice. We've never eaten at the hotel's restaurant, as there are so many good restaurants in the Bay Area, but the food we ordered through Room Service was good, although pricey.
