Just What We Needed
The Mercure wasn't anything fancy, but it was just what we needed...a clean, quality place to stay that is close to public transportation. I thought it was expensive, but all hotels are pricey in downtown Auckland.

Great Location!
Lucky to find a parking space on arrival - not a large area to initially park your car and $40 a day parking fee seems rather steep. Advantage of being an ACCOR member - enquired about an upgrade - immediate free upgrade to a junior suite. Large and clean, but dated. The bathroom was particularly dated with a shower curtain and a strong arm needed to flush the toilet (push up lever). Vue restaurant on top floor - fantastic views and good food. Breakfast adequate, but confined to a small area.

Great choice.
Hotel was well situated within easy walking distance to the harbor area, shops and restaurants. Rooms are large and clean. Continental breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Good free WIFI connection in the lobby area. Friendly and helpful reception. Highly recommended.

Slightly better than the Mercure Windsor, also a good option
We managed to stay in both Mercure hotels in Auckland during our trip to New Zealand, thanks to outstanding promotions on accor site. This is slightly better than its neighbour "Windsor".Location is great, right inside the CBD, next to one Airport Shuttle bus stop, very close to the ferries and Britomart.We got a room facing the street, hence it was a bit noisy -- even though this would not stop our sleep. A/C was even noisier than the street, so we turned it off. Another problem was the hotel front lighting -- we had to shut the curtains to get dark in the room.Room had enough space, tv, minibar, wardrobe, coffee facilities. Bathroom had a bathtube, which was great to relax!Hotel room/bathroom and corridors do look a bit outdated, specially if compared with other Mercure hotels.Free wi-fi for only 15 min per day and only in the lobby area -- which is weird, as you can have it for free in the street!Terrific views from it top bar/restaurant -- do not miss!As its neighbour Mercure Windsor, this one is indeed one step behind other Mercures I've been to, but still a good option in Auckland.

Good value and great service
We stayed one night only but were very impressed by the service offered particularly by the Receptionist. We were to go on board the Pacific Pearl for a tour and lunch but as my husband was not well, he had to stay behind at the Hotel. The Receptionist told him to stay in the room free of charge until 12-30pm and then she would send someone up to get him and the luggage and make him comfortable in the Lobby with a cup of tea and a newspaper until I returned at 2 pm. When I arrived back, the car was at the door with the luggage in it and my husband was sitting in the lounge drinking tea. Really great service thank you. We had a really nice dinner in the Restaurant and not for the first time.
