I stayed at the Townsville Jupiters complex recently for a work trip and conference. If I had the choice, I would not stay again. The rooms were fine, nothing special. Bathrooms are small. Bed was comfortable. Service was... interesting. The guys out the front on concierge/valet were very friendly and lovely. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the service desk staff. On asking if there were anywhere to grab a cup of coffee there at about 9 am, I was told to try the cafe in the casino. It was not open. I ended up being able to order one at the buffet restaurant downstairs. They didn't seem as if they wanted to help me, I felt like I was in their way. Not really good enough for a casino and four star hotel. Breakfast was good, in fact breakfast was the only meal I enjoyed at the hotel. My colleague and I couldn't find anything decent, relatively healthy and gluten free for lunch on the hotel menu (a requirement for one of us), so we ended up tripping into town (it's a good 15-20 minute walk from town or a 5 minute cab ride). That night we had a conference dinner at the function room in the hotel. My main meal was inedible - I ended up going hungry that night. Overall the rooms are fine, so perhaps if you are just visiting for one night, or really want to go to the casino, consider Jupiters. If you're looking for something more, look elsewhere.

I have stayed at jupiters a few times now and each time it is really pretty good but this time all the staff were much friendlier than any other time I have stayed there. The Spin restaurant has improved a lot as well. The food and service is now very very good. The only complaint I have about Jupiters overall is the shower head was woefull which I have found each time I have stayed there - I stay in an "executive" room so I would expect a decent shower but no happened so far

We stayed here for a night and thought it was good. The room was clean and the bed was comfy..thats all we need. We enjoyed a meal in the restaraunt next to reception and of course lost a few dollars in the casino..but you get that. I also left my nighty in the room but nobody called to let me know.

The Townsville Hotel & Casino is holding itself quite well even though the establishment is becoming quite old, when compared to other options in Townsville.The staff are friendly and willing to help. The meals in the Kobe restaurant are a bit disappointing and overpriced.The meals in the Aqua buffet are really poor. Apart from the fresh seafood the rest leaves you feeling like you've just completed a meal in a cattle feedlot. Unless you're very easily pleased I would avoid the buffet altogether.Apart from the quality of meals, the hotel provides good services, an excellent location and a friendly atmosphere.

We were quickly put thru check in. Room was nice and clean. Dinner at Kobe restaurant was beautiful. And the breakfast buffet was yummy, with heaps of options for all tastes. The cafe in the casino part was cheap, but the meals were great. sign up free to casino rewards and you can get your meals in the casino cheaper. The only thing I could fault was the actual casino. It is run down and need of a revamp. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
