Rooms are dark - excellent location
This hotel gets a very good rating because of its location else I would give it an average. The rooms are dark. The rooms are small but normal by New York standards. The parking is $55 - so be prepared. Depending on who you get the staff is either excellent or worthless. Some front desk staff can't even direct you to a bagel place - others direct you to an amazing place. Location is amazing - can walk almost everywhere.

Costums service
This Hotel is very terrible!!! Service is very very bad and they overbook the room and you didn't get what you suppose to reserve! Please don't late check in because you have to do your bed by yourself!

Excellent location
Doubletree Metro is a fine Mid town hotel option neStar Park Avenue, Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Terminal. It's just ten minutes to Broadway.The good: Staff was friendly and efficient. Room on 17th floor was quiet. King bed was comfortable. On-site business center, sundry's shop and bar were all convenient.The neutral: Rooms were manhattan small but functional. Property had a bit of a dated fill given fairly high price for a DoubleTree.Bottom line: Property offers a nice mid town base for a quick trip to Manhattan.

Good Experience - Would Stay Again
Hotel is in a great east side location and very close to several landmarks (Rockefeller Plaza, Grand Central, Central Park, etc.). Bathrooms are a bit small but the beds are very comfortable and clean. I'm typically loyal to Marriott but when unavailable, would be comfortable staying here again.

Generally Good for Business Travel but Non-smokers Beware
This Doubletree seems to have been refurbished not long ago and it's generally in good condition. It's a little tired around the edges if you look for it, but really it's fine and nicely styled. I stayed in two rooms here and both were decent size for New York. Has all you need for business travel. 24-hour Duane Reade next door. FedEx Office just a couple blocks away. Easy access to green subway (4,5,6) line, and links to blue and orange. A good launching point to get to Grand Central, Little Italy and Chinatown, and north to the Museum of Art. Police department and FDNY right next door, so it's not a sketchy area. It's good Lexington Avenue stuff. The staff is nice and helpful. There's a good gym. This was true one morning at 12:30 a.m. when loud Millennials were making lots of noise in the hall, slamming doors, knocking on the wrong door (mine), removing Do Not Disturb signs (also mine). Why they have to do this inside a chain hotel instead of walking out to open-all-night NYC and partying in any number of places, I have no idea. These were lame young tourists, not a rock band. But I called the front desk and asked to be moved to another room. They kindly moved me to another floor, no problem. Another problem caused by the guests, or possibly bad ventilation, was bad air. It's supposed to be a 100-percent non-smoking hotel. Someone on the first floor I stayed was smoking in the night, and I smelled smoke on the new floor where I was moved. Hard to imagine that on the 17th floor, this is due to bad venting from outside. Hard to police this, I know. It's the fault of bad guests and shame on them. Shame, too, on guests who let the doors slam shut with a loud bang you can hear down the hall. I'd say though, that a savvy hotel and a proper door company could make for quiet-close doors. It can't be that hard. Will I ever stay here again? Only if the price is really right. It's more than acceptable in most respects. But if I come here again and smell smoke, I'm done with the place for good.
