great, friendly service
trinity hotel is located right in the heart of the city centre, and for me the location was FANTASTIC. yes, this place suffers from the outside noise, but that can easily be fixed by using ear plugs or keeping the doors shut. the rooms are quite tight, but they are kept extremely tidy and clean. I booked through wotif and it was a two night special whiched offered free wifi and continental breakfasts - which was fantastic. the hotel staff were lovely and helpful, nothing was a drama. the only downside was the eclipse bar and restaurant - food was average and the service was a little lacking.

Not suitable for business
Not for the business traveller but here are the details, make up your own mind.Rooms are small, when I say small, the size of your main bedroom at home plus an ensuite. Asked for bigger, only a king size bedroom available.The noise! The windows are not soundproofed! You can quite clearly hear the going's on in the street when they are shut. This is from the top floor no less. Asked for a quiet room on booking.Their is no air! There is no airflow in these rooms unless you open a window, which in the centre of CBD brings noise 24 x 7. Didn't expect no air conditioning in place that advertised itself as a modern hotel.There is no table, well nothing that counts because its the dimensions of two laptops with a piano bench for a chair. More of a side/makeup table really as there is a mirror in front of it.Entertainment, TV channels advertised but not viewable. Many of them unwatchable. In room entertainment is effectively nil.The bed was fine but just two pillows on a queen size bed? When have you ever seen only two pillow on a Queen in any hotel you have ever been to? Sleep reasonably well so thankfully the lack of pillows did not reflect the bed itself.It's clean, functional if not sparse. You sleep here, if you can, not much else. I did manage to surprisingly but feels like I am packed in a can of sardines the room is so small. If none of that really matters then this is the place for you. It's central to Wellington, pretty much a stone's throw from most things but I wouldn't pay a lot for this.

Convenient, in need of renovation
We stayed in this hotel during a very busy weekend in W'ton, so paid quite a big amount for the room.The bathroom and bed are perfect! As there is no aircon in the room we had to leave the windows open which means noise from outside. We had breakfast included in the rate - breakfast comes on a tray and is served in one of the meeting rooms. Breakfast tastes fine but is very basic. The 2nd day we had breakfast in the city.Location is perfect. We parked in the Wilson parking across the street as the hotel's parking was fully booked.

convenient location, friendly staff
Stayed here 1 night before and after taking the Interislander ferry. Easy access to the ferry from the Trinity. Appreciated the secure undercover parking and we were within walking distance to everything in Wellington. Room was clean and although not large had everything we required. Reasonable and good value.
