Embarrising stay.
The reception people were so kind and attentive but they could not deliver the expectations we had.The door lock was unsafe and defective.Numerous attempts by staff failed to resolve this.Dining room menu was expensive and lacking in choice.The vending machines were faulty.The WIFI was not working properly and we feel grossly overcharged for the little use we had.Sorry that our itinery sent us here as all other places we stayed on our South Island tour was excellent.

WOTIF HOT DEAL BARGAIN
Thank you for the 3-night stay at Tanoa Aspen Queenstown. We had a nice time in the hotel and enjoyed the views. Particularly liked the in-house movie channel where we could request a movie to be played. We filled in the evaluation form and added most comments there. It is clear Tanoa are keen to please and invite good comments and suggestions. Loved the views and waking up to check the mountains to see how much snow had fallen to create that magical snow capped mountain picture come to life.Although there were some minor things that could be improved, overall we thought the value for money was excellent.

Nice, older hotel outside of Queenstown
We enjoyed our stay at Tanoa Aspen. The view from the bar/restaurant area was lovely. MWS stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. We had a nice view of the Remarkables and Queenstown. Our beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. I appreciated the fact there was a full kitchen we could cook in. Parking was tight, but I was glad our parking spot was covered. I would stay here again.

A Good Hotel that could be Great!
When your hotel is 2.5km out of town and up a very steep hill in a tourist city then your rooms, amenities and service need to be perfect. I found Tanoa Aspen to be a mixed bag.The rooms are spacious and well appointed but they are too hot and there is no aircon to adjust. Our bed was just too soft. As there is no lift to the first floor, quests must handle there own luggage which could get interesting for female or older travelers.Once you get past those hurdles the view of the lake is breathtaking, the menu and meals are well chosen, quickly prepared and superbly presented - they tasted wonderful. In fact we preferred to eat in on 2/3 nights we stayed at the Tanoa. There is a little corner shop and Takeaway options within 50 meters of the driveway for those we like variety.The staff are pretty helpful and willing to solve any problems. Like I said Tanoa Aspen is a good hotel but I think it could go to another level.

Nice location. Comfortable stay.
Had a comfortable stay over Easter Weekend. Stayed in a room with balcony, not on the lakeview side unfortunately, but pleasant view still. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Slight annoyance that the bathroom fan has to be on when the light is.
