Great Things Come in SMALL Packages
If 8 Hotels isn't Australia's coolest small hotel group, I'm dying to see who is!? Pensione Sydney is almost as good as Pensione Melbourne (except, clearly it's in Sydney)I must first state, I like little hotel rooms, I don't want any excuse to hang around a hotel room while on holiday. Having said that, I love stylish, well thought out rooms, they must have: peace and quiet, ambient lighting, a good bed and a well maintained (clean) history.This in mind, 8Hotels' Sydney Pensione ticks all my boxes + it's at the none-tourist end of George Street.The designer (she's just as gorgeous as the rooms) has put a bunch of thought into the rooms, I have to admit to wanting to paint my own walls that wonderfilled charcoal blue!Pensione Sydney isn't for everyone, the rooms are SMALL, perfectly formed, but small. The staff are brilliant, very courteous. If your not into small rooms (don't book the Petite) The King rooms are generous, still not large, but if like me the hotel room isn't what your visiting for, Pensione Sydney is perfect.

Close to everything
This hotel is value for money..Close to restaurants.. Public transport..walk to Sydney sites..I much prefer to stay in small hotels like the pensione hotel than the larger hotels much more personal & you aren't paying fir high overheads..will defiantly staying there again as well as any of their other hotels

could not have been better
The Pensione Hotel in Sydney delivers exactly what it promises, and then gives you just a little bit more for good measure. I had booked one of the petite rooms, which was cosy as the name suggests but was clean and neat and exactly what I'd paid for - no complaints. After a minor request could not be resolved by bedtime (a wheel was missing from the bed so I asked reception for something to chock it up with) I was upgraded to a double room at no extra charge for the duration of my stay, even though I was quite content to muddle through regardless in the small room. This kind of service, that delivered more than was strictly required, continued throughout my stay. I cannot say enough nice things about how helpful, professional and genuine the staff at the Pensione were. As for the rooms, they were consistently clean and neat. Bathrooms have a modern look and a clean feel. Some of the minor things other reviewers have raised, such as chipped paint or slightly threadbare carpet in hallways, were accurate but in no way impeded the enjoyment of my stay here, and the quality of fittings and linen in my rooms were absolutely fine. I will not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

My Room was just delightful. Not large but more than enough room. The bed was clean and comfortable. Pillows great. The room was all fresh and re-furbished. Looked great. Service was excellent and the people lovely. Will stay again for sure xxxSamantha

Good Value
You get what you pay for with the Pensione. It's well located. the petite rooms are very small but ideal for a single person. The bed is comfortable, bathroom clean and functional and it basically meets the basic needs of a quick visit to Sydney on the cheap. the staff were also very friendly.
